Review: Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers

27 August 2010
  • Conclusion: Weirdly, the game has achievements. Well an achievement system called ‘medals’. As with all achievements, the best ones make you appreciate the game more or draw your eye to things you may have missed. Highlights are medals for finding characters who have found their way from other Crystal Chronicles games, general messing around, and medals for experimenting with enemies like the Iron Giant I mentioned above.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers Review

3 June 2010
  • Excerpt: With the Crystal Chronicles series, Square-Enix has deviated from its core RPG roots in favour of more accessible gameplay. The third title in the series, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Crystal Bearers, is further proof of the RPG veteran's need to experiment, with a much firmer emphasis placed on action and adventure. Taking place some 1000 years after the events of the original GameCube game, things have changed quite dramatically.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers Review

Cheat Code Central
22 May 2010
  • Conclusion: As the Crystal Chronicles spin-off series grows, I am starting to get the impression that Square Enix is using the series as a testing ground for features that may be implemented in future games. They experimented with multiplayer in the first game, console cross-compatibility in Echoes of Time, and with Crystal Bearers, a single character story and a focus on exploration rather than combat.

Fantasy RPG with sexy outfits and crass weapons.

Common Sense Media
19 May 2010
  • Summary: Parents need to know that Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers is a fantasy role-playing game featuring a main character who is full of teenage angst, boredom, and rebellion. The game shows bikini clad women and features suggestive themes. You'll see drunk characters during the game. And while there is no blood, you'll see an odd kind of violence, like a pig who shoots laser from its udders, as well as other weapons used.

Test Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles The Crystal Bearers

Generation NT
17 May 2010

Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles -- The Crystal Bearers

Gamer vision
8 February 2010
  • Excerpt: Final Fantasy is a big name. A huge name. The series has spanned 13 iterations in the core and dozens of spin-offs, and has become, for many people, the quintessential RPG series. Some might argue that the formula has become stale, but none can deny Square's commitment to excellence, with each game's release being a massive event celebrated throughout the industry.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers

Game Revolution
5 February 2010
  • Excerpt: My fantasy is that the waggling can stop. I should start this review by saying that, if case you didn't know it, this isn't a traditional Final Fantasy game. This is a Crystal Chronicles game. It's not a turn-based affair, so if you get bored by all that thinking, positioning, you don't have to worry about straining yourself here. However, if you like telekinesis and throwing stuff, this might just be up your alley!
  • Pros: Graphics as pretty as the Wii gets, Controls are easy to grasp, Story is a snore, Don't have to battle?, Just nothing very
