Excerpt: There are few experiences more wonderful than unexpectedly bumping into an old friend you haven't seen in ages. The immediate spark of recognition at the beginning of the encounter is an amazing feeling; not to mention the warm feeling nostalgia you get as a old memories return. I think some video games have tried to replicate this phenomenon by referencing older IPs their audiences grew up with or haven't touched in ages.
Conclusion: I might have hated a lot of things about this game, but it is a lot better than most games. Escape From Bug Island has a lame story, which is told by bad actors. The graphics remind me of some N64 game that’s on steroids. You see a lot of the same thing here and there isn’t any replay value here. Use the Wii Mote and smack some bugs with sticks, after that enjoy more of the horrible music that fills this game.
Pros: Budget price, Controls have some truly inventive ideas, Enough Jungian iconography to fuel a thesis
Cons: All of those Jungian references were probably accidental, Game recycles levels in the second half, Horribly implemented controls, Levels are empty and repetitive, You could get RE4 for the same price
