Expected better

Joshua W. Fenton, Amazon

  • Summary: After all the rave reviews of this game I was somewhat disappointed with this due to one thing: actually getting in the water and swimming is gated by some annoying quest-like mechanics.

Endless Ocean (Nintendo Wii)

C. Boorman, Amazon
10 February 2008
  • Summary: Gave this as a birthday gift to my 23 yr old granddaughter. She has learning problems. Since she loves dolphins (anything dolphin) I figured she would love this. The large amount of reading and understanding proved a real problem for her; but with help she loved the underwater animals.

Nice idea but there's not enough here

  • Excerpt: Endless Ocean is an incredibly odd game, and while it's easy to be enticed by its ethereal wonder, this isn't enough for me to give it a free pass given that it's really quite bland and joyless. Still, if you've never seen a game like this before, it might provide some enjoyment.

  • Excerpt: Endless Ocean i first heard about on an advert when it was first released and, with dreams of doing oceanography at some point, iIloved the idea and look of this game. --- Story ---- The story basically revolves around you being a diving instructor, you can explore a vast range of areas to dive in...

  • Excerpt: Do you like adventure, sea life, discovering things, do you have a Nintendo Wii? Well then this might just be the game for you. Endless Ocean costs around £20.00 from most stores. It uses just the one controller, but no addons, such as nunchuck.

Ok game, buts you need to check its for you first.

  • Excerpt: I got endless ocean from Amazon for £18 and played it today. It first seams quite a relaxing peaceful game and the music makes it seam even more like this. The game is based on a boat with you as the diver going under water to explore and find new species, might sound all that exciting but its...

The Ocean may be endless it's just a shame this game isn't

  • Excerpt: My brother borrowed Endless Ocean off one of his friends and being the great big sister I offered to play on it with him for a bit the other night. Your character for the entire game is a diver and your task as far as I can tell is to complete as many dives as possible and complete small missions.

The game has its moments but fails to excite you

Hydromancer, Dooyoo
6 July 2008
  • Excerpt: Endless Ocean is another unorthodox title for the Wii and delivers an scuba diving experience on the Wii. The game does have its moments and a certain charm, but ultimately suffers from its slow pace and very idea does not appeal.

Is it good?...nyah

Noon, Amazon
10 February 2008
  • Summary: I agree that this wouldn't really be classed as a game but the attempt at making it so is actually annoying. There is a bit of a storyline to follow between exploring different areas of the ocean and it more or less gets in the way of some good exploring.

A game for girls or parents who don't want any hack and slash

pcornall, Dooyoo
9 February 2008
  • Excerpt: I have to agree with those who have awarded a lower score for this game - to cut to the chase, it's very boring! You play as a diver instigating the ocean and all the wildlife that inhabits it. You get to examine things and learn about all kinds of fish and see some beautiful underwater sights.
