Endless Ocean (Wii) - Review

VGChartz
20 March 2009
  • Excerpt: By Alex Machuca There’s a lot of interesting discussion that goes on when debating games on Nintendo’s famed Wii console. Whether you like or dislike the console’s diverse library, there’s no denying the fact that quite a few games (although assuredly not all) from Nintendo and third parties have been seemingly more simplified and easier for the average consumer to pick up and play, both in the attempt to corral new video game players and appeal to a broader audience of...

Endless Ocean Review

GameSpot
18 July 2008
  • Excerpt: Considering the seemingly endless yearly parade of sports games and licensed game sequels being released, you'd be forgiven for thinking that there's not much room left for originality in today's video game market. There may not be much room, but games such as Endless Ocean--in which your goal is little more than to scuba dive at your leisure--prove that there are still some truly unique games being produced.
  • Pros: An experience like no other, At times it's absolutely gorgeous and mesmerizing, Lets you play at your own pace
  • Cons: You'll see most of what the game has to offer in just a few hours, Slow pace might turn off a lot of people, The game's ocean isn't quite as endless as its title suggests

Engaging scuba-diving simulation with no danger.

Common Sense Media
17 July 2008
  • Summary: Parents need to know that this is a scuba-diving simulation game where nothing bad can happen. You can't run out of air, no fish will attack or harm you, and you can't get lost at sea. The game simulates nature and lets children experience what it's like to swim underwater at coral reefs and ancient shipwrecks. The Wii controls are simple enough that even a 5-year-old can play it.

Endless Ocean Review

VideoGamer.com

  • Excerpt: The latest title to grace the Wii as part of Nintendo's Touch Generations series of games, designed to appeal to a broad range of players who might not necessarily have grown up with a controller in hand, is Endless Ocean. As the title suggests, Endless Ocean sees you becoming a diver, working alongside a marine biologist to discover new species and find out information on all the creatures living in the sea.
