Summary: The problem with EA Playground is it's just too simple. There are only seven real games, and not all of them are great fun. Everybody has to love Dodgeball and Slot Car Racing. Paper Racers and Kicks can be fun too depending on opinion. But Tetherball? Wall Ball? Dart Shootout? This game got me hooked on Dodgeball and Slot Car Racing so well I've spent hours at a time playing them. With the single player mode, it's okay, but not that deep.
Summary: [Written from Wii Internet Channel] If nothing else, the Kicks mini-game made my kids and I vow to play it, in real life, this Spring. Good for casual gamers and kids under 12 due to the variety of mini-games and sassy but cute characters from which to choose. Caution: Darts mini-game simulates violent 'gun play.
Summary: This game is suitable for the entire family. However, it's the 3 year old that likes it the best. We mainly play as a family - and it does hold everyone's interest fairly well. Pros: lots of different activities slot car racing - multiple prizes/attacks, great game nerf game - my personal favorite, too hard for 3 year old (aiming issues) games very short (e.g.
Summary: Playground has it's fun moments. It has an addicting quality to it's minigames as well. I liked it's layout of the playground and the total game dynamics, but I grew tired of most of the games after a couple days. Dodgeball, which could have been the selling point of this game, seemed to lack a lot of gameplay. The games just went to quickly and seemed lackluster.
Summary: The common Wii game problem is the lack of content. Playground has 8-9 mini games, but they are almost identical. Only really different and enjoyable game was the paintball shooting. Comparing the 8-9 game difficulty level, it's about as complex as 1 mini game in Rayman. So considering Rayman gives you 50 or so hilarious mini games, and playground offers 8 very similar mini games, this is really not a great buy. Rental game for party, but not a keeper.
Conclusion: The game looks amaizing and the multi player is great fun. The single player games thou are simple and not demanding enough. The whole game took me just 1 afternoon to finish. It also lacks a bit of direction e.g. in kicks you cant actually aim where your shooting. A great game in all but its simplicity would have to appeal more to kids than adults.
Summary: My 5 year old son likes this game, exploring the playground and playing the mini games. Don't expect anything amazing, but with around 7 games for £30 ish, it's not bad value and is all pretty nice....with a sporty theme. For young kids, it's worth it...similar in a way to Wii Sports....
