Nintendo is keeping the DK name alive and well

randomrandolf383, Ebay

  • Summary: This game rocks! I've waited since SNES for a great DK game and it doesn't disappoint. Holding the Wii-mote horizontally makes for incredibly intuitive game play (think classic Nintendo paddles). 'Returns' has a great mix of classic elements and new designs. I love that they kept the opening sequence from the first level of the original Donkey Kong Country. Things like that make this game awesome.

  • Summary: I am so addicted to this game and I am not a kid. It is really challenging for me since I am 67 yrs. old. It keeps my brain sharp and I love the graphics, they are so clever. I can see where Mario Bros. came from. I love those games also.

  • Summary: The original Donkey Kong from the early 80's is still the best!
  • Pros: It works.
  • Cons: The high price of console games. Hello, tech companies, this is why so many people pirate your wares!

Donkey Kong Country is back, but not exactly for the better.

dddfan, Amazon
20 March 2011
  • Summary: I recieved this game for christmas, but hadn't planned on buying it due to my lack of interest despite being a veteran gamer who mastered the original DKC trilogy on SNES. When I popped it in and started playing, I thought "Hey this is pretty good. Maybe everyone was right about this being a great game." However by the fourth level, my opinion had changed. This game seems good at first, but there are several things that weigh it down.

A Classic Franchise Returns: Donkey Kong Country Returns

blaze6106, Game Informer
13 March 2011
  • Summary: Donkey Kong Country is back. The Donkey Kong Country series is one of my favorite in history and I like many was a little worried about this game. I was confident in Retro(Metroid Prime series) to make a good game, but I was scared that it wasn't going to be as good as the original and leave me sad and disappointed in such a great series. My fears were not warranted. Retro studios made an amazing tribute to Donkey Kong Country without relaying to much on Nostalgia.
