Donkey Kong Country is back, but not exactly for the better.

Summary: I recieved this game for christmas, but hadn't planned on buying it due to my lack of interest despite being a veteran gamer who mastered the original DKC trilogy on SNES. When I popped it in and started playing, I thought "Hey this is pretty good. Maybe everyone was right about this being a great game." However by the fourth level, my opinion had changed. This game seems good at first, but there are several things that weigh it down.

Summary: Donkey Kong Country is back. The Donkey Kong Country series is one of my favorite in history and I like many was a little worried about this game. I was confident in Retro(Metroid Prime series) to make a good game, but I was scared that it wasn't going to be as good as the original and leave me sad and disappointed in such a great series. My fears were not warranted. Retro studios made an amazing tribute to Donkey Kong Country without relaying to much on Nostalgia.
Summary: I was fortunate enough to have an SNES when the first Donkey Kong Country hit stores in 1994. That game changed everything in the console war between Nintendo and Sega, and the graphics alone blew everyone's mind. Essentially, DKC was a Super Mario World clone, but my god did it have style. 5 animal friends, 101 hidden bonus stages, hands down the best soundtrack I've heard in a game, and it was just plain fun.
Summary: Bought this for my 5 year old son for Christmas. he absolutely loves it, and its such a relief to find a game he can figure out and excel at.. many of the other games we have either dont hold his interest or he cant play independently because he cant read yet. I love it too, it is challenging but big fun for all of us.
Summary: I couldn't wait to buy this game as soon as it came out. I was expecting the game to be like the original but to my disappointment it wasn't.The game is not bad at all just not what I was expecting. The graphics and colors are amazing. I found the control a bit trick to get the hang of.
Summary: First and foremost, this is a really beautiful game. I'm so glad that not every game has to be a 3D rompfest through a forest, that 2D platformers seem to be making a comeback, like the new super mario brothers games. They did an excellent job with this one. All of the levels are diverse, each being stylistically different, and each having a unique challenge to it (such as riding a rocket barrel that cannot stop, or riding on the back of a whale that periodically dives...
Summary: Okay, I have never written a review for a video game, but after playing this game for a couple hours I had to! I have so many awesome memories of playing Donkey Kong Country a way back, so I was thrilled when I heard this was coming out! It does NOT disappoint! Lush graphics, fun new controls and so much vintage joy!!! Nintendo has a HUGE hit on their hands; well done guys! Even if you've never played a DK title, do yourself a favor and pick up this game!
