Summary: Having been a huge fan of Donkey Kong for the Super Nintendo I was thrilled when I found out about the Donkey Kong game for the Wii. It's a fabulous game. So fun. Everytime I play it I discover something new! The graphics are really great. And it's not hard at all to learn how to use the controller turned sideways. Trust me, if you liked the old Donkey Kong...just wait till you try Donkey Kong Country Returns!
Summary: Do you remember when games used to be hard? Nintendo does. Donkey Kong Country Returns is hard. It's "we'll make you cry in frustration" hard. I haven't beaten the game because there just came a point where I no longer made progress. Some of the bosses are difficult to figure out, and if you are working with a partner, then you have half as much life as you would if you were playing alone. My wife wanted this game so I bought it for her.
Summary: I bought it because it looked like a fun game and I always enjoyed the DK games in the past. This is another fun DK game, but I don't think Wii is utilizing DK to its full capabilities. It is similar to a super nintendo game when I think the Wii could make it more like the 64 version using the Wii controls. Overall, I do like this game.
Summary: Very fun game with lots of surprises around every turn. I'm a 20-something gamer and honestly, this game was tough. I'd spend an hour or two going back over each level trying to finish. Of course they do offer you a cheat- by means of the Super Guide who will do the entire level for you once you die X amount of times. I won't lie, I sometimes was so frustrated I took the offer.
Summary: When I was ten years old a mysterious box came in the mail. It was patterned with large jungle leaves and was suspiciously shaped in the form of a VHS tape. Lo and behold, it was a VHS tape. What was on that VHS tape? An inside look at one of the defining games of the SNES era -- Donkey Kong Country.
