Donkey Kong Country Returns (Wii)
19 May 2011
Summary: Purchased this game for all the family at xmas have had fun playing this game but must say some times very difficult getting through the levels - probably easy for an experienced game player though.
Excerpt: "...90s releases. One of these is Donkey Kong Country Returns, which is a very welcome addition for anyone (like me) who played the original DK Country on the Nintendo 64 in the mid-nineties. This was a fun side-scrolling adventure following Donkey (and Diddy) Kong on their quest to get back their bananas. The question is – over 15 years on, are the monkeys still magic? The answer is a resounding yes. DKCR follows the same basic storyline as the original ...
Pros: Great graphics, addictive gameplay, a fun game
Summary: We use to play this game years ago and loved it then. The new version is excellent, especially the graphics that are spectacular. It is a great remake of a classic game and it is entertaining, challenging and a great platformer. It sure kept the old man quiet.
Donkey Kong is back on true form with his best game since the good old SNES days!

Summary: I had Donkey Kong 64 which was a 3d platformer made by Rare and it wasn't as enjoyable as Mario 64 or Banjo-Kazooie. Donkey Kong Jungle Beat (Wii) and Donkey Kong: Jungle Climber (Nintendo DS) went back to 2d platforming but some of the old SNES magic was missing still. We now have Retro Studios who did a most excellent job with the Metroid Prime: Trilogy (Nintendo Wii) and they have shown their great powers again and given us the best Donkey Kong game since the SNES...
Summary: By Far one of my favourite games i own for the Wii. Especially for any fans of the original (which ive also downloaded :D) Well explained and fun to play - Lots of secrets to find (and most are found very easily by accident) There are some fun locked levels which some reckon are easier to complete but i find them more interesting personally. A great game for Solo play or for 2 to teach how to play. Shame theres no other modes for 3+ players.
Excerpt: Great game, lives up to the original, but with so many secrets and hidden things to find, it's one I'm buying rather than renting as it has high replayability. As a platformer I rate this over New Super Mario Bros Wii, DKCR's two star primates have a lot more personality than the two plumbers.
Excerpt: Very nicely presented 2d side scrolling platformer. Great simple game mechanics and the graphics really do pop as you play too. This is actually a contender for being better than New Super Mario Bros, although it is only 2 player.
