Great addition for any DK enthusiast!
2 December 2010
Summary: This game has awsome gaphics and is packed with fun and excitement. I loved the DK games for the Super Nintendo and this one is similar, but better. The only thing I am having trouble getting used to is having to shake the remote to do some of the moves, but besides that it's a great game.
Summary: Different people are likely to see this game very differently. It will be too hard for some, others will just see an unexceptional but high-quality platformer. People like me, who grew up trying to master classics like Super Mario 3, Mario World, and Klonoa will recognize some of the most brilliant and meticulous level designs ever for a game of this type. For my money, this might be the best 2D platformer released since the days of the SNES.
Great game but really needs classic controller support

Summary: Great game plays much like the classic versions with some new twists which are fun. It is challenging without being frustrating. The only complaint is the same one I have for all wii games like this, PLEASE Nintendo add classic controller or gamecube controller support. What is the point of the classic controller if you never make an option for it in a game.
Summary: If you liked the original donkey kong country series, you will absolutely love dkc returns. The level design is great, sound is great, graphics are beautiful, all the luster of the original is left in tact. The game play mechanics are spectacular and feels very very good. One problem I had though is that the classic controller is not supported so you must use the wii's broken shake function and it really takes away any precision you might have had otherwise.
Summary: I remember getting the original DKC the year it came out for Christmas, and staying up all night with my sister playing it. It quickly became one of my favorite games and series, and I was excited when I heard this was coming out. The preview videos gave me confidence that it would hold true to the DKC formula, and after playing it, I'll say it even exceeded my expectations. The game is influenced by its predecessors, but Retro took steps to make it their own game too.
Summary: This game rules. You'll be happy to know that Nintendo has taken care of DK so this game won't disappoint. The visuals are good. No shuddering during gameplay whatsoever. This is very important for platformers so you don't miss vital jumps/etc. The story is passable, I actually enjoyed it. There's enough story so that you know why you're going here and how everything progresses. It works. Gameplay takes a little getting used to.
