DONKEY KONG COUNTRY RETURNS Review
10 December 2010
Summary: If you want to see my Video Review please go to [...] When Donkey Kong Country was released in 1994 it took the world by storm. The core formula back then was fast paced gameplay, wacky level design, precise controls and an absurd tough difficulty. Since Rare, the Developer of the Original, had been assimilated by Microsoft there was a need for somebody to step it up and bring back the good old donkey Love.
Summary: it's not your old donkey kong but it is a fun game for one or two players. has helpful menus to show you through the levels once you have died many times trying which is great for the kids when they need a little help and are getting frustrated. the kids have enjoyed it immensely.
Summary: For the entire 14 years of time that have passed between the last Donkey Kong Country game, I would have never expected another sequel to pop up in the Donkey Kong Country series. Looking back from when I was watching E3 2010 on my television, I still can't believe how ecstatic I was for an unexpected Donkey Kong Country game.
Summary: OK, so I remember playing this in N64 back in the day, and I didn't think that they could recreate the fun of the original, but they ABSOLUTELY did. This game did not disappoint at all; the graphics are the best I've seen on Wii, it's challenging, but not absurdly so, and the co-op play is great! If all games were like this, I'd have to quit my job and play Wii full-time. Great job, Nintendo!
Summary: Finally, Nintendo decides to bring back the classic!! I enjoyed this game immensely playing it on my old Super Nintendo gaming system. But, playing it on our Wii takes it to a whole new level!!! Graphics are A +, as are levels and just the hours of fun we have playing it. I'm just wondering why Nintendo took so long to re-release this game. Nonetheless, I'm glad they did!!!
Summary: Since most games are crap, A good game only comes out once in a while. I am an older fella and have fond boyhood memories of sitting in my underwear, playing nes at 5am. Games like spyhunter drove me nuts, I would be ruled by the game. The difficulty was so extreme and I can say that about most nes and snes games. Well, Donkey Kong country returns is a flash into the past. At first I was all excited about the 2d action and the game being fun from the get go.
Summary: Donkey Kong Country Returns has a ton to offer. For one, the graphics are extraordinary - the characters look like their sprite based predecessors and the animation is superb. The backgrounds are amazing, with a superb attention to detail. The old SNES games used computer renders to display their graphics, and Retro has done a great job of capturing the look of the old games with polygons.
Summary: for starters, being a big fan of the original, i had very high hopes. it is missing some things: not being able to switch between donkey and diddy, the variety of "animal buddies", king k. rool and the kremlings, underwater levels...with that being said this is still a very good game. Its got bonus levels, some weird pig, a lot of secrets, boss fights, and many more things that fans loved about the old DKC. you will have to use the foreground, mid-ground, and background.
