Fun and frustrating

Enjolras, Amazon

  • Summary: I've never played a game that's both so frustrating and so fun at the same time. Here are some thoughts a bit more than halfway through the game: The GOOD The graphics are gorgeous. While Donkey Kong Country Returns ' graphics don't have quite the same "wow factor" as the original Donkey Kong Country did for SNES, Retro Studios did an amazing job. Some of the cutscenes almost look like Pixar films.

  • Summary: This game is full of clean no blood, no violence. Most video game nuts started with Mario Bros and this game is just an extention of that fun with the awesome graphics with Wii. Would recommend it highly, my 21 year old asked for it and from the Mom who taught him how to fly in Super Mario, I couldn't resist.

A worthy remake, though hard

CrunchyCookie, Amazon
19 December 2010
  • Summary: Until recently, those of us who grew up on (and loved) 2D side-scrolling platform games had been suffering a 15-year starvation. The rather awesome reincarnation of New Super Mario Brothers Wii put an end to that in 2009, while this year we get a restoring of the other most beloved game of the genre, Donkey Kong Country (yes, more beloved, and better, than any Sonic).

A Triumphant return for Donkey Kong

T. Hill "Relytia", Amazon

  • Summary: When my wife and I saw previews for this game, we both decided together immediately that we would get it. We both had hyper levels of nostalgia for the classic trilogy of Donkey Kong Country games on the SNES, and when I saw that Retro studios, the geniuses behind the best Metroid games in the franchise ( I'm referring to the amazing Metroid Prime Trilogy, for those sadly unacquainted ), I knew this sequel/reboot would be of the highest quality. We were not disappointed.

  • Summary: Three words: GET THIS GAME! This is hands down the best game that I own for the Wii system. Loads of fun for both single and multiplayer. This game is very similar to the older ones, but jam packed with new features. The graphics are not too bad either. Get this game, you will not be disappointed.

  • Summary: It's hard, but that's what makes it so awesome... The multi player is one of the best co-op i've ever played, and that makes it all the more fun... If you have a Wii and you're here to read about the game, buy it already...

  • Summary: Donkey Kong Country Returns is a welcome return for many fans of this classic title back in the SNES days. It has remained one of the most played after games even till now. This new game of the classic title has gone up a notch in every department, from graphics, animation, levels, gameplay etc. If you like old school platforming games with varieties, this will be it as the game offers enough challenge yet providing an enjoyable experience.

My 5 yo son LOVES Super Guide! I love DKC Returns!

T. Leech "Tammy", Amazon

  • Summary: Ever since we bought our first Wii years ago we have been waiting for them to transfer this game into the Wii platform. When I saw that it was coming out this fall I was SO excited and hoped that I wouldn't be disappointed. Well... I'm not! This game is wonderfully versatile. It is difficult enough that my husband and I cannot beat all of the levels on the first try, and that's just beating it, not trying to collect every little puzzle piece and extra bonus.
