Is it a good return?
29 November 2010
Summary: I always make sure I play a game all the way through before a leave a review about it since many games grow on me over time, and some games are very exciting for a week until you realize the replay value is non existent.
Great game but really needs classic controller support

Summary: Great game plays much like the classic versions with some new twists which are fun. It is challenging without being frustrating. The only complaint is the same one I have for all wii games like this, PLEASE Nintendo add classic controller or gamecube controller support.
Summary: I remember getting the original DKC the year it came out for Christmas, and staying up all night with my sister playing it. It quickly became one of my favorite games and series, and I was excited when I heard this was coming out.
Good nostalgia - a lot of new stuff, but miss some stuff from the old days

Summary: Pre-ordered from Amazon, and I very much am enjoying it over all. It is a nice nostalgia trip and a pretty good stand alone game all by itself. I've only had time to go through the first 1/3 or so but will happily tackle the rest.
Summary: First and foremost, this is a really beautiful game. I'm so glad that not every game has to be a 3D rompfest through a forest, that 2D platformers seem to be making a comeback, like the new super mario brothers games. They did an excellent job with this one.
Pros: Definitely a must buy game for the classic SNES DK country fans out there. I myself bought it skeptical of whether the wii would ruin it or not, and it sure did not. The game graphics enhance the gameplay which alone makes it a classic.
Cons: Big buzzkill I have to admit, all the bosses so far have been a joke. Game levels themselves are difficult though.
Summary: Study up on the controls, I had to read the controls screen to figure out how to roll. There are 2 ways to play: remote by itself or nunchuck+remote. I haven't tried the nunchuck, but I have no problem with and actually like the stand-alone remote.
Pros: This is a stunning side scroller. DKC Returns is like the SNES originals, only multiplied times 10. The animations, scenery and characters are incredible. The world is alive and its all in 3D. I am most impressed with the animations and the variety of discovery in each level. I imagine this game ...
Cons: None really... Maybe a few nit-pick things. Some people may not like the challenge; it can get frustrating in some parts. I prefer the challenge.
Summary: Okay, I have never written a review for a video game, but after playing this game for a couple hours I had to! I have so many awesome memories of playing Donkey Kong Country a way back, so I was thrilled when I heard this was coming out! It does NOT disappoint!
Summary: I don't normally write a review before I've beaten a game but after several hours of play I've got to say Donkey Kong Country Returns is grand. I've been playing it since the midnight release. Where do I start? It's like slipping on an old glove. I didn't even have to read the manual.
Summary: I'm a very casual gamer. I only buy a game or two a year, play it for a couple hours, then I'm done. I bought Donkey Kong Country Wii today because I loved the previous installments of the series, and expected something larger than life, interactive, and fun. Thankfully I wasn't disappointed.
