Donkey Kong Country Returns
2 September 2013
Summary: In 1994, the original Donkey Kong Country single-handedly saved the Super Nintendo from losing to the Genesis. The gorgeous platformer had everyone talking, with its solid gameplay, classic characters, and, most importantly, absolutely revolutionary visuals. After two sequels in as many years, the Donkey Kong Country series came to an abrupt halt.
Conclusion: And four. Decidedly, it suggests that Retro Studios transforms everything it touches into gold. The studio is a Texan sign revival for the old thundering glory of Nintendo . We had not seen such a Donkey in form since … Donkey Kong Country’s first name on the Super Nintendo. With its design level of hell, the gameplay revitamine, its replay value and exemplary embodiment of the first order, Donkey Kong Country Returns required quietly as the best platformer 2D machine.
Highly enjoyable new spin on a classic, now with co-op.

Summary: Parents need to know that Donkey Kong Country Returns is a fast-paced side-scrolling adventure featuring classic Nintendo characters Donkey Kong and his nephew Diddy. There is some mild violence in the form of shooting with a pop-gun and pounding the ground so hard so as to destroy the baddies. The cartoon graphics, silly storyline, and violent-free gameplay (for the most part) all point to a good family pick.
Excerpt: I’ve had my beady little eyes on Donkey Kong Country Returns since it was released late last year, so when I was graciously given the opportunity to review this game I was all over it like a monkey on a banana. Donkey Kong Country Returns was developed by Retro Studios and they have held true to the series which began back in 1994 by Rare on the good ol’ Super Nintendo.
