Donkey Kong: Barrel Blast

Donkey Kong Barrel Blast is a continuation of the DK Bongo series. Barrel Blast is a racing game, similar to Mario Kart, which makes extensive use of the Wii-mote and the nunchuck controller. It features both single-player mode and multiplayer. It includes lots of modes to play with, such as Grand Prix, Quick Race, Time Trial, Challenge and Multiplayer. This is the only reason that will motivate players to try this game. Although the quality isn’t quite spectacular or up to expectations, it features lots of content. More interesting is that the game doesn’t require you to constantly waggle the Wii-mote and nunchuck to keep moving; as once you achieve top speed, you can stop. The only challenge now is to avoid slamming into obstacles, like barrels and rocks, which is done by either smashing through them with the A button or by planning around them by shaking either the Wii-mote or nunchuck. Most players find this game not innovative and the stages to be badly calculated. Here are some of the reviews; “Donkey Kong Barrel Blast is one of the worst Nintendo games. The visuals are colorful, but not impressive with the blurry textures. The soundtrack and the sound effects are almost unnoticeable.” On most levels amateurs found Donkey Kong Barrel Blast to be a shallow game.
