Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End Wii Review

Console Obsession

  • Excerpt: Rum. Nowadays, fuel of drunken teenagers, fighting on street corners. In the days of yore, fuel of drunken pirates, fighting on…street corners. Okay, so not much has changed. Rum (and pirates) shot to the forefront of the public consciousness when Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl was released in 2003.

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End review

Wii's World
23 September 2007
  • Conclusion: While many people will reproach the game by the fact it is a tie-in adaptation, At World's End still pulls out some sweet and savoring features, just like an old bottle of rum. Fans will enjoy the many themes and elements from the series implemented in the game, and help enjoy the pirate legacy while it lasts. Or if you just want to sit down (or actually stand up since this is the wii), then you will find AWE to be an exuberant experience. Savvy?

  • Excerpt: Sad truth: Movie-based games tend to sell well regardless of critics' opinion. So, if you're looking for gaming goodness based on the latest Bruckheimer blockbuster, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, run out and buy Pirate's of the Caribbean: At World's End for Wii (or PlayStation3 or Xbox 360, for that matter).

PotC: At World's End Wii Review

AtomicGamer
31 May 2007
  • Excerpt: As the summer movies hit it big time, you know there are going to be quite a few licensed video games from all of it.  And every year there are disappointments; there just seems to be no way for publishers to launch a hit video game alongside a corresponding movie.  It's happened plenty of times with Harry Potter and Spider-Man , and while these games do generally sell pretty well, they're mediocre at best once you put aside the movie hysteria.

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End

WiiDS.co.uk
27 December 2007
  • Excerpt: At World’s End is the final instalment of the blockbuster movie trilogy, The Pirates of the Caribbean and as is par for the course, a tie in video game was released to in tandem. It was with an air of trepidation that I came to review this game as my past experiences have taught me (with a few notable exceptions) that video game spin offs of movies, are generally a let down.

Official Nintendo Magazine

  • Excerpt: Oh, for the want of a decent game to tie in with the summer's blockbuster movie releases. So far this year, the line-up's been pretty shoddy - Spider-Man 3 was terrible and Turtles was worse. So what's a gamer to do? If you said "dress up like Johnny Depp and act like a pirate", you'd be right although sadly, even that turns out to be far less fun than you'd think.
