Summary: The Good: Creepy immersive atmosphere, lots of weapons, great story telling The Bad: Repetitive, very hard, may turn Dead Space fans off Dead Space is a surprising new gaming franchise from EA that was actually original, in depth, a just really amazing. The whole story behind Dead Space is just so surreal thanks to all the different forms of media from movies to books to comic books.
Summary: after getting through with resident evil 4, i wanted to find something else to kill time on. didn't find this very interesting though. played it twice. maybe i'm just old, but the controls didn't seem very intuitive.
Summary: I got into Dead Space from a walkthrough of Dead Space 2 on youtube. I don't have the game system that it plays on, but I saw that there was a game that takes place in the same universe for Wii, so I picked it up. It is a lot of fun. All the graphics are almost as good as those on the Playstation 3. All the sounds are exactly like those in the normal games.
Summary: I decided to get an idea of what DEAD SPACE was all about after the recent advertising hype for DEAD SPACE 2. I picked this game up very cheap at a local game store (they always have a pile of them used and I had been ignoring it) and got a copy of the DEAD SPACE animated film at WalMart for 5 bucks. I figured the game and the film would clue me in and I think I now have some idea what this well marketed franchise is like.
Summary: Some of the best visuals available on the Wii system. While I can appreciate what Viceral Games was trying to do with this, it came off as nothing more than fan service and really does feel out of place on the Wii. The limited edition of the PS3 version of Dead Space 2 will include this game for the Move. If you are interested in Dead Space from a story perspective, this is for you, but don't expect ground breaking gameplay.
Summary: for those that might not understand, the experience here is more like watching a movie than playing a game. i guess this is common on the wii platform but it was a little surprising for me. you don't control movement at all. the game walks you through the first-person view of things. you, as the game player, using the wii remote to aim a cross hair to grab and shoot things. want to go back and pick that thing up or look at something?
Summary: Having played the original Dead Space on Xbox 360, I knew I had to play this, if only to fill-in the back story. In terms of story, this game delivers. The characters are well-defined and have a lot of personality. I enjoyed the voice-acting and thought some of the odd twists thrown into the story were interesting. This type of game is similar to interacting with a live movie -- there are no cutscenes; everything happens as you are playing.
Summary: Yeah...I wrote this awesome review for the first Dead Space game stating my expectations for the sequel. Well I bought this game and I played it and I beat it and now it's sitting on my video game shelf because I can't bring myself to play it again although I'm really fond of the Dead Space idea and story production. I mean 4 stars for fun the first time around and eventually I'll play it again?
Summary: As a huge fan of the original Dead Space and on-rails shooters, this was a no-brainer buy. But, it's only mediocre. The graphics look really outdated at times (even N64-ish). I know that means nothing to gameplay, but it really does look old in places. And the gameplay is also lacking. They tried to tell a convincing story with characters, which can be decent at times, but it drags on.
