Waiting for a blizzard to trap me in the house before I get to this one

Summary: Not that I have videogame playing on my stupid list of things to do (don't get me wrong, I'd love a chance to go back to my college days when I blew off classes and studying for the sake of videogames-I mean look where it got me). I like Ubisoft. I thought I'd give it a chance. Well maybe if this was the lone purchase my nine-year old son would have given his full attention to it, but there were two other discs waiting to be explored.
Summary: Dawn of Discovery is a great little game when you want to create something a little different from Sim City. You can play it as a game or simply create your civilization at the difficulty level that's comfortable for you. It's best if you play it as a game first--they take you through a tutorial that way and you can figure out how to get to various city levels and it helps show how certain additions do what to and for your emerging civilization.
Summary: I enjoy this game. I like building up the little islands and keeping everything balanced. The game isn't glitchy or slow. It does have a cut scene after every level that isn't overly exciting, but it does give you the option to skip it. You won't be lost as to what your next mission is if you do skip. It gives you the option to play in easy, medium or hard.
Summary: I own both the PC version of Dawn of Discovery (also called "Anno 1404") and the Wii version now. There are distinct differences between the two, and each has its own strengths and weaknesses that are completely unique. In this game, there are two options for play. In one, free play, you can build however you wish and everything's open to you.
Summary: Dawn of Discovery for the Nintendo Wii is a brilliantly crafted strategy-lite game. It has many features found in full blown mercantile strategy titles minus the micro-management. It actually has an engaging story that constantly puts atainable goals before you. They can be challenging, however they are not impossible, and it has good replay-ability as you have many character choices in the begining of the game.
