Summary: We bought it as a birthday gift for our 12 years old daughter. She takes 5 dance classes a week. She finds it challenging. It makes her sweat. We are happy with it because the game meets our expectations of been challenging and a good cardiovascular workout. We want our daughter to have fun in a healthy way.
Good starting point for DDR, better workout than Wii Fit.

Summary: DDR Hottest Party for Wii is my first DDR experience (mostly because the Wii is the first game console I've owned since Intellevision!). Now that I've really gotten into the game, and looked through other forums on DDR, it appears that DDR Hottest Party is a fairly "light" game compared to other DDR titles. I only have my experience with the Hottest Party for Wii to go by, though.
Summary: I'm completely addicted. I wait til everybody in the house has gone to bed, and I turn it on. "IT'S TIME, FOR THE HOTTEST PARTY!". At first, I looked like a brain injury victim trying to dance. Remember in Footloose when Keven Bacon was trying to teach Willard to dance???? I was worse. But, now I am getting A-s on the beginners level. The only thing I hate is, I have to turn the hand markers off every time. I wish there was a way to turn those off and save it.
Summary: I am a mother of 5 and I bought this game for myself, mostly for exercise. I am plus size and this is perfect for me. It counts calories in the workout dance mode, there are challenges, and most of the music is older from the 90s so I know most of it. It is so fun, I can burn 500 calories in 1 hour on beginner/basic mode. Kids also love it, but I use it more than they do.
Summary: It is such a fun way for me to exercise. I have it set to count the calories I burn and that encourages me to keep going. Even though I still get "boo-ed" for my poor rhythm, I love it. Most grandparents would buy this for their grandchildren, but I had to have this one for me.
Summary: I bought it for myself, but we are also using it at the Physical Therapy Clinic where I work. (I brought into work to show my co-workers) Who knew PT could be so much fun? To challenge our injured atheletes to regain balance and flexibility, we are finding the DDR to be fabulous! It inspires our therapists to be more creative and provides enough levels so even the fittest among them have to work at a good score.
Summary: We ordered DDR about a month ago and it's really a lot of fun. Our whole family uses it and someone uses it every day, and I lost 3 pounds in the first 2 weeks of dancing. With a good bit of practice, it's easy to move past the beginning phase (there are 4 stages- beginner, basic, difficult, expert) and you get a grade on your dancing performance. I moved into basic fairly quickly and get A's and B's on most dances.
Fun for everyone! Even shy daughter and chubby mom!

Summary: Wow, I am shocked, I have watched my 8 year old play this game at the arcades we frequent on trips, and she always does well, and like her momma, loves dancing. I knew we were getting a WII and bought her this game set for her 9th birthday a few weeks ago-and it has changed our home like nothing else! The 6 year old-enjoys singing the songs and coaching her sisters on! The 5 year old neighbor girl won't leave (lol!), comes over to try and dance with 6 & 9 year old.
Summary: I bought this after reading some of these reviews, and I have to admit I was not disappointed. My husband and I had just returned from eating too much out at a restaurant, and I was feeling fat. I came home and hooked it up for the first time, and was moving in no time. The menuing is a little klunky when you first start, but the secret is to get off the mat and use the wii remote until you become more comfortable with the mat and the menus.
Summary: My daughter and her friends love this game. I bought a second mat for 2 players. We had a great time watching all the family try out their dance moves during the holidays. The dogs enjoyed it too. They walked across the mat during a game and accidently put it in a higher speed. It was very funny watching clumsy teenage girls trying to keep up with it!
