Disappointment

Kristine Ferrone, Amazon
20 September 2011
  • Summary: I played the first installment of Cooking Mama on the Nintendo DS platform and it was a very good collection of mini games and fit the platform well. This game however, was a huge disappointment. The graphics are terrible, the 'mini' games can sometimes go on for way too long, it's super cheesy and just not well done at all. We gave it a chance to get better and played for an hour or two, but it is really not worth the time.

Cooking Mama World Kitchen

P. ROSENBLUTH "Mau's Mom", Amazon

  • Summary: I have to agree with what other people said, it is way to hard to control. I loved the DS version, this one was terrible though. The mini-games were pretty bad as well, just plain boring. The case that we recieved it in was very sticky for some reason, too. If you own a DS, then get it for DS. I don't recommend for Wii.

Too comical for me

Rebarama, Amazon
23 January 2011
  • Summary: I bought the game for $20 at Wal*Mart. I think it is silly how she throws food around the kitchen and you have to catch it, etc. Too animated for me. I'm going to get Cooked or Be Cooked by the Food Network instead. It looks realistic and I like how you have to multi-task. I am a 31 year old adult so it might be better suited for children.

Sad follow up...

Kimberly, Amazon
4 March 2010
  • Summary: If you played the original and loved it and are thinking of buying this game DO NOT! I figured I'd give it a try when I found it for $14, and well frankly I'd like my money back. I wouldn't even pay a dollar for this game, it's nothing like the original. The controls are completely different which makes it much less like cooking things and requires a skill and speed set that I personally will never possess.

pretty disappointing

J. Shoenfeld, Amazon
13 January 2010
  • Summary: My kids were real excited till they tried it. It was embarassing how stupid this game was. It isn't really even a game. After about 5 minutes they both decided they were not interested at all. An easy pass.

Not fun at all!

Amazon Customer "Tara", Amazon
21 June 2009
  • Summary: We had such high hopes for this game as we LOVE the DS version. My kids & I tried it as soon as we got it and we found it so hard to play. It's a very frustrating game & we gave up on it after a few times. Really wish we would have gotten another game instead.

What in the world?

ccmom, Amazon
26 April 2009
  • Summary: I agree with the other low-rating reviews here. This was my first venture into the Cooking Mama series, so I'm guessing the first ones were good enough to merit this poor sequel. This must be much easier on DS where you're not relying on guessing the right motion! There is practically no instruction on what you are supposed to do in each step, and the manual is no help either. Does anyone know what the commentary says - I can't understand the 'Engrish!

Hate it

I. Weisman, Amazon
9 January 2009
  • Summary: The first cooking mama game was great. This is one horrible. I wish I never bought it. Definitely rent it before you buy it to make sure you like it. It's pretty expensive.
