Cate West The Vanishing Files

Family Friendly Gaming
31 July 2009
  • Excerpt: Cate West The Vanishing Files is another I Spy kind of video game on the Wii. There have been a rash of these in the last twelve months. Finding a list of items, and telling the differences between two pictures keeps the mind active. The zoom in feature with the magnifying glass may be the best way to search for hidden images. Cate West helps the police solve crimes thanks to her special psychic abilities.

Find hidden and missing items in creepy crime scenes.

Common Sense Media
10 July 2009
  • Summary: Parents need to know that this game has a slightly eerie tone that could frighten younger children. The environments - static images with objects hidden in them - are sometimes creepy crime scenes. The game also discusses murder, arson, and assault in dialogue scenes, though none of these crimes are graphically shown. Overall, this fun hidden object game is as appropriate as most mystery fiction aimed at the target age.
