See moreWhen you hear the word Carnival the picture that comes to your mind is that of fun and bright colours. Carnival Games combines all the classic carnival game experiences with the Wii’s motion-sensing controls. Players start by creating a stereo-typed character. Then with your character, you venture out into the carnival, completing games in single-player mode to earn prizes and accessories. Or in multi-player mode you can compete against your friends and family. Up to four players can participate in that game. Multiplayer is possible even with just one Wii remote, as the game allows for players to pass the controller between them. There are more than 25 different mini games to play. Carnival includes all the classics; Dunk Tank, Alley Ball, Ring Toss, Balloon Darts, and so on. You get prizes and accessories when you are successful. Prizes are given out based on your performance. The better you perform the better the prizes. Though carnival is fun to play, there is a lack of clarity of game instructions and controls are too sensitive or not sensitive enough. Some of the games are amusing enough to be worth playing multiple times, but most of them aren’t. Some reviews said that though it’s not the best-looking game on Wii, it’s impressive for a low-budget, little-hyped release. Sound effects follow the carnival’s mood and atmosphere. It is mostly a family game giving a more Carnival mood that a real Carnival.

When I first saw Carnival Games, it looked like the kind of game that, if you got enough friends to crowd around your TV, it would prove to be a decent party-like distraction. Undoubtedly, there will be a small market of people who do just... Read more
As poor as Carnival is from an adult's point of view, it's hard to tell just how the target age group will take it. It's almost certain that they'll get some enjoyment from it, albeit short lived, and the prizes will be exciting until they realise that they serve no purpose other than to sit there. But with so many other mini-game focussed titles available on the Wii, Carnival simply can't be recommended. Read more
The games are all based off of classic carnival games, notorious for their difficulty. This comes through in the video game as well, a few of the minigames are quite difficult to master or even reach a reasonable level of success. However, the controls are simple enough for young gamers to play and most games allow even poor players see some measure of success, and no reading is required. The difficulty of some of the games makes the solo section of the game less... Read more

The Wii needs mini-games like Sony needs bad press, but it's hard to dislike Carnival Games. I was expecting a collection of generic target shooters, but these are faithful recreations of authentic carnival games! Many bring back fond childhood memories of the boardwalk in Ocean City, Maryland. There are 25 games available from the start, and many more that can be unlocked. Most are simple and fun, incorporating natural motion controls and realistic physics (too real if... Read more
