Bully: Scholarship Edition

Bully: Scholarship Edition is an action/adventure video game developed by Rockstar Toronto and released in the US on March 2008. The game utilizes the Gamebryo game engine and uses the Wii Remote and Nunchuck as input methods.

Gameplay

Bully, played in a sandbox-style, is set in a fictional boarding school in New England region of the US - Bullworth Academy. The player controls new student Jimmy Hopkins, a 15-year old troublesome teenager with a criminal past. As Jimmy Hopkins, the player gets to interact with the school’s cliques (Bullies, Nerds, Preppies, Jocks and Greasers), school faculty and the people in the town including the Townie gang. This game has over a hundred unique characters, each with their own name and personalities.

As a sandbox-style video game, the player is free to explore his surroundings. There are various weapons available to the player, including slingshots, bottle rocket launchers, marbles fire crackers and more. The player can also operate vehicles like skateboards, scooters and bicycles.

Bully: Scholarship Edition has a character-driven plot that progresses through 6 chapters. In order to move the story forward, the player must complete a multitude of minigames. The school’s classes (English, Biology, Geography, Music and Math) are also done as minigames and get progressively harder. These classes involve word games (English), the dissection of various animals (Biology) and more. Other minigames give the player a chance to improve the main character’s skills, acquire new items as well as earn money.
