Summary: This game is not what I'd expect based on the movie. Somehow the movie was turned into a roleplaying game where Merida goes out and kills stuff until she defeats the evil bear (I think his name is spelled Mor Du). I don't remember much combat in the movie, so it seems like an odd type of game to make it into. As a role playing game, it's OK at best.
Summary: I bought this for a 6 year old. It is a fun game and easy once you get the hang of it. I think that the graphics cold be better and that is why I rated it 3 star. I wold purchase this item again.
Summary: This is partially my fault as I did not fully read the description. I was expecting a more E for everyone experience from a disney product. This game is more of an adventure that is about being suprised by creatures and having to shoot them to move on. My daughter is not a fan and is acutally a bit scared by this. Also the scenes are dark and in order to see well the lights have to be off. Again she is not a fan.
Summary: My 8 year old granddaughter loves it. I think it is too violent. There are constant animals and demons rushing at her and she has to use her bow or sword to kill them as she makes her way through the forest to find her mom.
Summary: In terms of the story in the game, it diverts significantly from the movie and that for me was ok. There are cute puzzles to figure out with the 3 bear cub brothers and a very clear linear progression from one level to the next. I always like going back and getting things that I miss in games and this game didn't have that. It was good and short, but not great.
Summary: I was almost scared off by earlier ratings but was interested in the subject matter, was able to get the game for $10, and decided to buy it anyway. I'm glad I did. My seven year old, with a bit of help from me, still enjoys it after several weeks of occasional play. Yes, the graphics and game design have significant flaws - but I'm okay with that at the price we payed.
Excerpt: ~x~x~x~ An Introduction To Brave ~x~x~x~ Hollie's favourite heroine at the moment is Merida from the Disney Pixar film Brave, actually she's also my current favourite heroine as she's a kick ass young Scots girl - a Disney Princess with a difference, a medieval princess from the Scottish Highlands who prefers a bow and arrow to a kiss from a handsome prince.
Pros: A really nice game to play, simple but challenging
Cons: Dodgy graphics in places, a soundtrack so repetitive I often turn the sound down
Summary: I ordered this game before going to see the film at the cinema as when booking our tickets we were given a code for £5 off the video game at Amazon, which brought it down to a tempting price. As a family, we are huge disney fans and we were eager to discover the story of this new Pixar princess.
