Big Catch - Bass Fishing (Wii): Big Catch Bass Fishing is a big waste of money
16 November 2009
Summary: This was the first fishing sim game I caught wind of for the Wii. Being an avid fisherman for many years I jumped at the chance and purchased a copy immediately. This was a mistake. From the start it is apparent that this is a game that has had very little thought put into it. The menu's are poor, the gameplay is very limited and the choice of lures leaves a great deal to be desired.
Pros: None of which I am aware
Cons: Poor longevity, unrealistic, poor choice of options
Summary: Big Bass Fishing on the Wii is a great game! I bought it for my partner a few months ago and he sits hooked to it for hours on end! Brings a little samity to a womans life ;o) You can choose to play in competition or just go fishing. The game isn't consistent, just like real fishing, sometimes you'll catch and other times you won't....you need to find the good spots for sinking your lure and hooking a big fish.
Excerpt: "I got this game a couple of weeks ago and to be honest i haven't really got into it yet. I have played this game with the normal controller but i am thinking of getting the fishing rod to see if it makes it a bit easier to use. Casting takes a bit of getting used to and when the lure is in the water how you retrieve it takes some getting used to as well. Personally i don't think this is a game for a really young child maybe from seven years upwards. ...
Conclusion: I loved Sega Bass Fishing on the dreamcast. I pestered my friend to lend me this for a couple of weeks before I bought it and I'm so glad I only lent it. I really wanted to like this game so I tried and tried but it just doesn't even come close to Sega Bass. To me it just comes across as I really poor rip off. I can honestly say, while I was playing it I think all emotions left me body... I felt dead... Maybe just dead bored I guess.
Conclusion: very good game and quite simple to play. it gives you a tutorial at the start so that when you dive into it you already know what your doing but sometimes can be hard to keep the fish but is much easier with the fising rod. i would recommend this.
Conclusion: Not the best fishing game to be hounest, But a hell of alot better than sega bass fishing, Agin it's bass bass and more bass boaring, game play and fish fighting are alot better than other titles, But to be quite hounest from a fishing fan, I wouldent bother wasting your hard erned cash on it, 3/5.
