Summary: I bought this on a whim as a silly gift for my husband. Little did I know it would keep him entertained (especially during the NFL lockout when he thought there might be no football this year!) for month after month after month. He's played several "seasons" including playoffs and hasn't seemed to tire of it yet! If your guy is a football fan, get him this to keep him out of your hair!
Summary: Backyard football for the wii is very fun especially if you are a fan of backyard sports. The power-ups and other gameplay tweaks are back and better than ever, season mode is still included, and more. And like always you get to create a player, name him give him attributes, and with Backyard Football for wii you even get to choose a voice for your created player. And the graphics are improved from other backyard sports environments. I mean, it's backyard football.
Summary: I purchased Backyard Football 2009 for Wii to give to my niece(age 11) for Christmas and she could not have been happier. My nephew(age 13) couldn't wait to play the game with his sister! From what I understand, this is a great game and it even appeals to teens. I am not a gamer so I have to go by the feedback I get from my children as well as nieces/nephews, and friends of my children.
Summary: Grabbed this game as a Christmas present for my 6 year old nephew. Now we can't snatch the thing away from him. The colorful graphics and action filled plays keep him coming back for more. It's easy to play and builds hours of fun.
Summary: My 5-year old loves this game. He tried his hand at Madden and gets frustrated with calling the plays. These plays are simpler and offer guidance for him. His favorite part is that he can beat my husband with trick plays. For example, when running down the field you can turn your player into a rocket and fly to the goal line. This is a great first football game for little ones. The controls are similar to Madden wii so they will be able to transition as they get older.
Summary: There are lots of negative reviews for this product, but they seem to be all by adults. Just looking at the box graohics, it's easy to see that the game is clearly aimed at kids, and for that audience is a big hit. It's simple enough that my 7-year-old boy, who has never played any Madden or more sophisticated football, says it's his favorite game. We have Star Wars, all the Mario games, but this is his favorite by a mile.
