Astro Boy: The Video Game

Cosmos Gaming
8 December 2009
  • Excerpt: Astro Boy has been an important part of both gaming and animation for quite a long while, even dating back to the early 1960s. Since the series conception, several games, animated series and even a new American movie have popped up all over the place. This game, which is an attempt at bringing the American movie to life in video game form, is a simple and child-friendly action platformer that not once captures the true essence of Astro Boy.

Astro Boy: The Video Game - WII - Review

GameZone
8 November 2009
  • Excerpt: Osamu Tezuka created the first Astro Boy manga in 1951, and with it he gave birth to the style we now know as anime. Name a traditional anime element and chances are it first appeared here – giant eyes, tiny mouths, transforming robots, and lots more. Since then, Astro Boy’s look has gone on to influence the art style of countless video-games (not to mention serving as a pretty obvious inspiration for the Mega Man series), so it only makes sense to see the boy robot star...

Astro Boy: The Video Game - PSP - Review

GameZone
28 October 2009
  • Excerpt: I’m not the least bit surprised if a game based on a newly released movie or is a tie-in story related to a theatrical release turns out to be a horrible gaming experience and a shameless way to rake in extra cash. Then again, a very rare few movie-based games actually surprised us with fun gameplay elements that made it worth buying.

Astro Boy: The Video Game

Gaming Evolution

  • Conclusion: Diehard fans of the film…if there are any, should definitely check this game out! Parents looking for a squeaky clean fun 2-player game for their children may also find what they are looking for in Astro Boy the Video Game. But with an estimated retail value of $39.99 anyone else may want to steer clear or pickup the game on a cheaper platform. If you still really want to enjoy 3 hours of Astro-action, you could always see the film 2 times.

Astro Boy: The Videogame review 1

9lives
8 February 2010
  • Summary: Astro Boy is terug van weggeweest.
  • Pros: Vliegmissies
  • Cons: Eentonige gameplay, Slechte besturing, Erbarmelijke graphics, Korte speelduur (al is dat misschien positief?)

Astro Boy: The Videogame

9lives
8 February 2010
