Play Cricket in Snow n Rain indoors

willismis..., Ciao
13 June 2013
  • Excerpt: I have always played cricket as a kid on a regular basis. As I got older, I started playing the Brian Lara games. I recently got the Wii system and decided to buy the Ashes 2009. On first glance it has various modes including classic cricket, scenarios, and the ashes test itself. There are various difficulty levels Village, County and International. With village level its so easy that I scored 550 in less than 25 overs in the first ashes, very easy.
  • Pros: Different game modes, Scenarios to challenge you, Different overs to keep you occupied,
  • Cons: Graphics are poor, commentary is repeated and gets boring, Player names awful

A simplified version of cricket for the Wii

conirelan..., Ciao
8 July 2012
  • Excerpt: Overview I found that this game is a more fun recreation of cricket than the more serious take on the game which can be found on other gaming consoles. Many different formats of the game and different gaming modes are included as well as some tutorials to enable you to increase your enjoyment of the game. This game remains the only cricket game for the Nintendo Wii to my knowledge yet feels slightly dated in comparison to other, more recent games.
  • Pros: Good for a laugh, fun, range of different options, only cricket game for the Nintendo Wii
  • Cons: Unrealistic batting, commentary

ITS ORITE, STILL IS QUITE FUN

  • Summary: IVE HAD THIS GAME FOR 1.5 YEARS. ITS FUN AT START BUT GETS A LITTLE BORING.A GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY. ITS QUITE HARD TO BE GENARAL ABOUT THIS GAME. ITS GOOD FUN, NO DOUBT. BUT YOU DONT HAVE MUCH OF A CHALLENGE. THE ONLY FUN WAY TO PLAY IS TO SET THE DIFFICULTY LEVEL FROM VILLAGE TO INTERNATIONAL. IF YOUR NOT A CRICKET FAN THE I SUGGEST YOU DONT BUY IT. IT KEEPS ME OCCUPIED FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME. IF YOU WERE TO PLAY A 50 OVER GAME IT WOULD TAKE ABOUT 2.5 HOURS TO 4 HOURS.

A good laugh with a few mates but not what cricket fans were hoping for.

  • Excerpt: Ashes cricket 2009 is as you might expect a cricketing game for the Nintendo Wii loosely based around the 2009 ashes series in England. Now there was quite some hype around this game when it came out, as people had been petitioning Nintendo to come up with a cricket game on the Wii with websites set up to this end, so this game has a lot to live up to.

Made a start, got out quickly

  • Summary: I eagerly bought this game as I was really looking forward to a cricket game on the wii, because, let's face it, the wii controls lend themselves perfectly to a cricket game. However I was a bit disapointed. Not with the graphics or even the game play, as someone else mentioned it would be amost impossible to realisticly bat and bowl through a whole test match. My gripe with it was how repetetive it became.

A disappointment, but not a complete failure

Dan Ritchie, amazon.co.uk
25 February 2010
  • Summary: As a keen cricketer, I was thrilled to hear about Ashes 09 on the Wii. However, after a few minutes of playing it, it is obvious that it is only designed for mad t20 style play. Slog after slog gives you several 6's every over, and sometimes a four can feel a little disappointing. The lack of Wii motion plus makes for a bit of a cheap feel to both batting and bowling, and I guess this is the main cause of them problem of the slogathon.
