Excerpt: "...and decided to buy the Ashes 2009. On first glance it has various modes including classic cricket, scenarios, and the ashes test itself. There are various difficulty levels Village, County and International. With village level its so easy that I scored 550 in less than 25 overs in the first ashes, very easy. But the county and International modes does give you a little challenge. In terms of the graphics its ok, I always find it difficult to see if ...
Pros: Different game modes, Scenarios to challenge you, Different overs to keep you occupied,
Cons: Graphics are poor, commentary is repeated and gets boring, Player names awful
Excerpt: "...allows you to recreate the Ashes series. Tutorials - These allow you to gain the technique required to play this format of the game, I found the tutorials to be extensive with regards to the controls that are required to play the game. These can be accessed at any time from the main menu if you need to refresh your memory and provide a good visual aid if you do not want to sit and read the manual. Negatives: Repetitive Commentary - The in-game ...
Pros: Good for a laugh, fun, range of different options, only cricket game for the Nintendo Wii
Summary: IVE HAD THIS GAME FOR 1.5 YEARS. ITS FUN AT START BUT GETS A LITTLE BORING.A GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY. ITS QUITE HARD TO BE GENARAL ABOUT THIS GAME. ITS GOOD FUN, NO DOUBT. BUT YOU DONT HAVE MUCH OF A CHALLENGE. THE ONLY FUN WAY TO PLAY IS TO SET THE DIFFICULTY LEVEL FROM VILLAGE TO INTERNATIONAL. IF YOUR NOT A CRICKET FAN THE I SUGGEST YOU DONT BUY IT. IT KEEPS ME OCCUPIED FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME. IF YOU WERE TO PLAY A 50 OVER GAME IT WOULD TAKE ABOUT 2.5 HOURS TO 4 HOURS.
Summary: I eagerly bought this game as I was really looking forward to a cricket game on the wii, because, let's face it, the wii controls lend themselves perfectly to a cricket game. However I was a bit disapointed. Not with the graphics or even the game play, as someone else mentioned it would be amost impossible to realisticly bat and bowl through a whole test match. My gripe with it was how repetetive it became.
Summary: Hi Guys I was so excited when buying this game, had a lot of expectation maybe i will say bit too much which brings a slight shadow of disappointment after playing this game.I wont say its bad but comparing with other games like tennis more to improve baiju
Summary: Found this game enjoyable but super easy first time i played i scored 320 runs off 10 overs!! then i bowled the aussies out for 38!! now i am on the international difficulty an its still quite easy!!
Summary: As a keen cricketer, I was thrilled to hear about Ashes 09 on the Wii. However, after a few minutes of playing it, it is obvious that it is only designed for mad t20 style play. Slog after slog gives you several 6's every over, and sometimes a four can feel a little disappointing. The lack of Wii motion plus makes for a bit of a cheap feel to both batting and bowling, and I guess this is the main cause of them problem of the slogathon.
Excerpt: "Ashes cricket 2009 is as you might expect a cricketing game for the Nintendo Wii loosely based around the 2009 ashes series in England. Now there was quite some hype around this game when it came out, as people had been petitioning Nintendo to come up with a cricket game on the Wii with websites set up to this end, so this game has a lot to live up to. The game itself is released by codemasters, who are responsible for most of the cricketing games ...
Pros: Good bowling options, quite entertaining
Cons: Batting disappointing, Not enough for cricket purists
