All Star Cheerleader (Wii): Energetic multiplayer game requiring lots and lots and lots ...

Summary: The box promises endless excitement "Join the Squad and be the Cheerleader of your Dreams". The cheerleader of my dreams would be a svelt size 10 with double jointed hips and endless energy. The reality is a considerably larger 33 year old with a tendancy to creak first thing in a morning. Still the box claims a 3 year old can attempt it. How hard can it be? Extremely so is the answer.
Gimme an S gimme a L gimme an O gimme a W what have you got ...

Summary: As my daughter was getting the high school musical cheerleading outfit complete with pom poms for Christmas this seemed like the ideal game for the wii to go along with it and yes ok I'll put my hands up and admit that I quite fancied it too. The game is readily available at the excellent price of £14.99 and another great selling point is that it can be used with the wii fit board although it is a stand alone game if you don't have a board.
Pros: A change from the dance mat, little girls should love it
Fun game (with a wireless nunchuk & balance board!)

Conclusion: This game is ok, the routines are decent and and it's not as childish as you would imagine. The problem is with the remote and nunchuk. It would work quite well with a wireless nunchuk but with the regular one the wire gets in the way, hits you in the face and you can't always replicate the moves accurately, thus losing points. I have the wii balance board and, although you can play without it, it does make the game more interesting.
Conclusion: Only disadvantage this game has is the fact you have to use the two remotes. With the cable it makes it a bit restricting. I have Wii Cheer also. It is much better. You use two wii remotes as pom poms. No wire, no problem. You can really get carried away with Wii cheer...it is addictive.
Summary: I love dance and since this is linked to the balance board for the wii fit I thought I'd give it a try. I found the initial customisation of your cheerleader/squad fun but the controls for it weren't explained very well, I struggled to work out what I was doing (and I'm fairly tech savvy.) I started with the practise sessions and often found the load time was quite long especially when syncing the wii board up.
Summary: This is a fun game to play but suffers from a few issues. It has unusually long load times for each practice or routine or even for a tiny cut-scene. Each section is usually less than a minute long but has at least a 30 second load time. If you try to use the balance board it resets at the beginning of EVERY practice or routine adding another 30 seconds or so of waiting. Without the balance board it is just about worth waiting for the sections to load.
Summary: Hallo liebe Leserinnen und Leser!
