All Star Cheerleader (Wii): Cheer? .... I don't think so Sonny Jim!
14 July 2009
Summary: I bought this game a few weeks ago. It was a tough choice between this and 'We Cheer'. I decided on All star cheerleader as it had slightly better reviews and seemed to be aimed at a wider audience than We Cheer, which is supposedly aimed at pre teen girls. Being 24 (but still 14 at heart!), I thought I might be better suited to All Star. Oh dear, I wish I'd never bothered.
Summary: Quite simply put, this game is a waste of time and money. My sister bought it because it was a game solely devoted to dancing which she loves. The game is agonisingly slow to load, and when it does, each round barely lasts a minute. There are so many tryouts/tutorials and the moves are difficult to remember because there are so many. When used with the wii balance board, it has to calibrate the board for every round and it doesnt even get much use.
Summary: This game looks great but has lots of issues regarding play. Load time for each segment (regardless of length) is ridiculously slow (often as long as the actual segment) If you use the balance board it's even longer. You are unable to complete moves to the full extent due to the length of the wire between the remotes. Also it doesn't seem that sensitive to the moves. you can do it and it won't register.
