Summary: My 10-year old son saved all of his birthday, etc. present money for around two years to purchase this device. I have been fighting with the Rovio for weeks now and still cannot get it to function reliably. I tried to install the device multiple times on two different computers and couldn't get the device to connect to the software or to my router (which I have multiple other devices connected successfully). I now bought Apps for my iPhone and iPad.
Robot may be decent (I can't say) - Tech Support and overall support terrible!

Summary: I received the Rovio as a gift and was very excited about it. It held great promise as a mobile webcam. I attempted to set up the unit following all of the instructions to the letter. I quickly found out that it was made ONLY for use with Windows XP. At a time when Windows 7 is now the prevalent operating system it seems fairly lame that a company is still (after years now) using an operating system TWO versions back. TechSupport was zero help.
Summary: I was very excited the day the Rovio arrived. Then the horror began. 1) The battery holds a charge for only up to 10 minutes. 2) Not user friendly at all. 3) It's so hard to get the port forwarding to work (so that you can control it from an outside network, work) I've had network administrators not make it work after trying for many hours. 4) WOWWEE has NO customer service. Before you buy this go on the wowwee website and clisk on support.
Summary: I installed everything as described. Once up and running, the camera quality is terrible 2 out of 10. has to be in pure day light to have decent picture on screen. Oh worst part about it is it's navigation signal strengh, it's so week I get about 20 feet before it looses all it's bars and doesn't respond! The start up time is bad. About 3min to get the picture on the screen. No no it's not my network, it's the toy, that's all it really is.
Summary: The Rovio is a great product, BUT, I am extremely disappointed in wowwee now that I'm having the same problems numerous other people are having with the power supply. I initially thought it was going to be a great customer service experience with wowwee when I contacted them, but now I haven't received an email or had my help ticket updated since May 7th. I initially contacted wowwee customer server May 3rd, 2010.
Summary: They sent a defective product. I sent it back as per their enclosed instructions stating that you can return the item for any reason. No questions asked. Their words not mine. I sent it back and three months later still no refund. E-mail after e-mail. Call after call. Assurances after assurances and still no refund. They will not reply to e-mails. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this company.
Summary: Got this as a Christmas present on XMAS eve. I had never heard of this thing before so I was excited. Opened the item and charged for 2 hours per manual. Tried to connect via USB about 20 times and kept getting a "failed to connect" error. Tried 4 PCs, about 20 USB ports and 3 different cables. Then when I searched the forums and I decided to try the web interface. I followed the instructions to a T and never was able to login.
Summary: I was excited about this toy because of the cool factor and its uniqueness at the time. I was able to use the product for just a short time before the battery failed to hold a charge. I contacted WowWee and after a few emails and providing the necessary documentation, was told I would receive a new battery in a few weeks.
Summary: Although this product is fun to play with, I highly recommend avoiding it due to the horrible customer support. My Rovio has been down for almost 4 months with a common encoder problem and I am finally being being shipped parts to fix it myself. I think Wowwee has been having problems figuring out a fix, but their communication is so poor that I'm not sure.
