Excerpt: In my opinion, the Philips Webcam is an exceptional product, arguably being, at the time of purchase, one of the best web-cameras out there on the market, for its price, quality and aesthetic appeal.
Summary: I bought this camera to use skype; but it does not work; I have the same problem as someone above; I can see the other side but they cant see me; at the beggining I thought it was my PC and/or my internet speed but since then I bought a Microsoft camera(£19)and it has proved me wrong it was not my ionternet or my PC as this camera works faultless.
Summary: Small but effective. This is a real plug and play web cam. For the webcam novice, this is an ideal, excellent medium to begin with. It is skype friendly and also can be used as a video camera. Very easy to use, no installation necessary, no software discs or other nonsense, highly recommended.
Summary: I bought this webcam to use with Skype 5 under Windows 7 - which shouldn't have been a problem. It didn't install correctly so I had to download and install the, supposedly "optional", software. It took several minutes to produce a picture locally when I opened Skype, but got there eventually, so I Skyped my partner. The picture disappeared immediately, although the camera light still said it was working correctly. I could see him but he couldn't see me.
Summary: I bought this camera to speak to my boyfriend when he was away in Canada. I have a laptop and wasn't impressed with the clip to attach the camera to the lid. It wasn't stable at all and it was more a case of balancing it on top. However it was extremely easy to install, just plug and play, no software to install and it ran straight away on skype. The main problem was the picture was bad, i could speak for a minute and my lips would only move 3 times!
Summary: Die Kamera funktioniert einwandfrei, das Bild ist auch gut. Für diesen Preis kriegt man keine bessere. Nur was ich bemängeln wurde ist die Installation, es ist keine installations cd vorhanden.
