Good camera, very poor stand

Paul_UK, Amazon
4 April 2008
  • Summary: Despite promises of a secure stand that can be used with desktop monitors or laptops I was not able to get the camera to fit securely anywhere. The hinge on the stand was loose and the weight of the cable was enough to move it. From my limited use the picture quality seemed to be very good and responded well to varying light levels. The sound quality from the microphone was adequate though not exceptional.

Doesn't do what it claims

Amazon Customer, Amazon
8 January 2007
  • Summary: The packaging for this item claims that it will mount on any Notebook. Well I have an Acer Travelmate C204 that this camera simply will not mount to stably - it just will not balance over the top of the screen. I'm also marking it down for bundling a bunch of third-party software without any warning or documentation - not even an indication as to the function of that software. Make sure you only install the minimal set of drivers.

Major MSN flaws

P. Mosco, Amazon
12 June 2006
  • Summary: Bought this webcam on the back of reviews here. Over the passed 5 years, I have owned 6 different webcams, so I do know the difference between good and poor quality webcams. On the positive side, the quality of the picture is very good, as good or better than the best Logitech cameras. The bad news is that for those of us who use this with instant messenging, it has a number of serious faults.
