Summary: This was the best webcam I have ever used. Had I known then, that this would not continue to be produced, I would have bought a few more. The lens gives very clear images and the built in microphone is very sensitive and clear.
Summary: Well, I used this camera for a very odd purpose: planetary astrophotography. It works quite well for this. Upon arrival, I gutted and placed its delicate parts in a new project box that I equipped with a telescope nose-piece adapter. The camera is performing quite wonderfully.
Summary: This camera served its purpose for two years on Windows XP and XP 64 bit without problems, the hardware was OK but the software was poor and the sound quality was average. However after upgrading to Vista the camera became unusable. Philips claim to have released Vista and Windows 7 drivers for the camera but they are notoriously unstable and there are posts describing problems all over the web, I tried installing both Philips drivers and Microsoft ones for this camera,...
Summary: The camera works great, sits on top of my iBook G4 and I use it to talk on Skype. When I talk to my boyfriend whose in England, he says my picture quality is like a television when my window is smaller, but more digital when he maximizes the window or enlarges it to full screen. I had to install macam to use it on my Apple, but that application is free and can be downloaded online. All in all, few complaints here!
Summary: I purchased this product after visiting my son-in-law who uses the cam for astro-telescope photos. If you are into that you will need some additional free software available on the internet. The cam software is somewhat difficult to install on Windows Vista. You need to download the Vista drivers from the Phillips website. Do not follow cam instructions that says to install camera drivers form CD first. I had to use windows restore several times.
Summary: I bought this webcam to use as a ccd for my telescope. This is my 2nd one. They are excellent webcam with high sensitivity and very low noise and are prefect for dark locations and astrophotography
Summary: The tripod screw mount of the Philips webcam was suddenly separated from the main body of the webcam. In addition, the customer center told me it couldn't be covered by a warranty. that's it. Don't waste your money.
