Philips SPC1300NC is a 1.3 megapixel web camera. It enables user to have video conversation via internet. Among of its main features include 6 megapixel digital still photo capture, 90 frames per second video, 8x digital zoom, Pixel Plus 2, wide-angle lens, face tracking, Digital Natural Motion, two directional microphone, noise cancellation, motion detection, and fun features.

The SPC1300NC enables 6 megapixel for photos and with software enhancement, it allows user to get up to 2 megapixel interpolated video steaming. Besides that, it delivers 90 frames per second full motion video chatting providing clear and smooth images. It features Pixel Plus 2 that provides sharp pictures to the images. Moreover, it features 8x digital zoom allowing user to control the zoom entirely via the on-screen interface. Plus, it features automatic face tracking that automatically detects user’s face and move the lens to follow user’s face allowing user to move around and converse naturally. It is also built with two directional microphones that focus on user’s voice and reduced background noise to deliver smooth conversation without other interfering sound. Motion detection feature enables user to record videos of anything that happens in the home while user’s out. User can set it to detection mode and it will start recording when movement is detected in the room. It requires a system requirement of CD-ROM or DVD-ROM Drive, Microsoft Windows XP, Microsoft Windows Vista or Microsoft Windows Vista Home operating system, a processor of Pentium III 500 MHz or faster, 512 MB worth of RAM memory, sound card, free USB port, hard disk space of 200 MB and internet connection. It measures 40 x 82 x 88 mm (W x H x D) in dimension and weighs approximately 110g.

    At £70 (inc. VAT) it’s not the cheapest webcam out there but then it’s not delivering the most basic of online functions. The only question we find ourselves asking is: who in all honesty needs to capture video images at this resolution and consider it "professional quality"? Read more

    This webcam, intended to be in the high end, lacks quite a bit of quality compared to its main rivals. Our biggest problems are the lack of autofocus and rather mediocre rendering in low light conditions. Read more
