    The Microsoft LifeCam VX-5500 is a great mobile or desktop webcam that has good picture quality. Many webcams will not work well in lowlight but the VX-5500 works well in many lighting situations. With excellent video software and many features, the Microsoft LifeCam VX-5500 is a great product for webcam activities. The LifeCam is user friendly and priced nicely and is a good pick for users who are ready for a good webcam. Read more

    Much like its predecessor the VX-5000, the VX-5500 is an excellent webcam which produces almost perfect audio and video steams. Our only caveat would be that an extra light source might be needed in a dark room. Read more

    1. The 20 minute broadband download of a pig of Microsoft software I had no interest in that was part of the install. (I know better than stopping mid-point. I've spent too many weeks fixing "features" MS "offered" me. Even uninstalling made me nervous.) 2. Many of the best advertised features (like noise cancellation, one touch button) only work if you use MS Everything, or Live Messenger anyway. 3. Many basic features (zoom, pan, etc.) don't work at the highest setting... Read more
