Unhappy with purchase
28 February 2011
Summary: I had to install more programs than just what was on the disk it came with. I'm extremely frustrated with it. I was able to send same day photos with it, as it will take snap shots. I was not able to ever get it to work as a live webcam. Photo quality is poor. I'm sorry I spent my money on it.
Summary: This camera is OK for an entry level camera, like if you need one just for chatting and your computer doesn't have one; however, if you want a clear picture or motion that isn't choppy and fuzzy you need to get a higher quality camera.
Summary: This cam works great, when it decides to actually show up. I've reinstalled the software over and over again because the camera fails to work on any consistent basis. Would not recommend this product.
Summary: I tried installing this product on a machine with Windows XP and the software will not work. The camera works fine with the various messaging programs and even through the camera wizard, but the microphone and the features advertised with the camera do not. I tried several fixes I found online for the problem and none of them worked. If you are running Windows XP, buy a different camera.
Summary: This thing takes forever to load the software drivers, even with Windows 7. Windows 7 does not automatically load the drivers for this device. Previously I had purchased the HP KQ246AA and that one you just plug in and go. I was trying to save a few bucks by buying this one but that was a mistake. Aside from that, picture and voice quality are fine.
Summary: the only reason its getting 2 star is because of the software. All i want was a driver and it installed soo many sht on my laptop, took about an hour & half... wtf ? it dosn even include many options, it also installed a whole a lot of crap i'll never need. Worst software ever, im never getting a ms cam again, my old logitec was so much better.
Don' buy unless you want to use Microsoft Live Call

Summary: Okay camera but the software installation took forever. I have no idea why, It just buzzed along for 20 minutes. So be aware that your are giving Microsoft an opportunity to get into your software libraries. If you don'e plan to use this exclusively for Microsoft Live, don't bother with this camera , get a Logitech or other legitmate camera maker.
Summary: I bought two of this based on other reviews and not happy at all. It cannot adapt to lighting changes in the room properly. The "fun base" is not good enough to keep camera fixed and stable. The button on it is a joke, as it works only with Windows Live Messenger and is annoying, suggesting to install Windows Live Messenger every time you accidentally touch it.
Excerpt: The video is good. The microphone is weak. The initial camera I got had such a weak microphone that I required to get within 3 inches and shout to get any audio. I attempted this on 3 diverse computers, and employed 2 diverse programs to record audio, and tested with Skype.I exchanged it for an additional. This one has a somewhat much better microphone but it is still weak. I get acceptable volume if I get inside a foot of the mic, which is absurd for a video camera.
