Summary: The lasting impression I have from using this for a few days is, that an MS exec read the dictionary definition of a webcam and told his team to 'build that'. The result is a webcam without practical features, such using a different mic. Once you assign a different mic (via windows' Sound properties) the whole camera becomes disabled; the included software has no option for this.
Summary: I recently purchased the LifeCam Studio webcam and have been using it for skype video calling as well as streaming on twitch.tv. After plugging in the webcam the software installed and I was able to preview my picture. Everything seemed fine and the picture looked very good. After closing the software and attempting to reopen it my computer was unable to detect the device.
Excerpt: We had another for nearly 2 years and all of a sudden the microphone stopped working. Still haven't an answer for it. Another thing was when I comparing prices your website showed model # Q2F-00013. When I went to the store they only had Q2F-00001. I really didn't get an answer as to the differences between the two.
Summary: I misread the description. I thought it makes 1080p video but it's not. It's 1080p images and 720p video. Anyway, I was expecting a bit less noisy image. It's not bad, but I was expecting something better if it's branded as Microsoft product.
