Didn't work as Planned

David Thomson "Davethevoice", Amazon
31 December 2013
  • Summary: My copy of this unit would not capture motion consistently. It continued to "freeze frame" and jam up. I contacted Microsoft help desk and they agreed that the unit was defective. I will borrow several other cams now and try them before purchasing again.

There are better webcams...

Margaret H., Newegg
20 October 2013
  • Summary: I purchased 4 or 5 of these for my users for Skype. After about 6 months 3 of them now render the video with a VERY annoying green hue. The sound quality is good but doesn't justify the price. If you want a GOOD quality HD webcam for about $20 cheaper, go with the Logitech C310.
  • Pros: Ships Fast, Good Adjustment Variance, Good Mic Quality
  • Cons: Bulky, Cord Could Be Longer, Expensive for the Quality

Microsoft Lifecam

axman, Staples
20 March 2012
  • Excerpt: The software is weak. If the camera is supposed to take high quality video, why would there not be a fullscreen image so that you could send the video out on a projector or screen for others to see? That was the reason I bought it, and I had to use 3rd party software.
  • Pros: Easy To Set Up, Fast Connection, Sharp Image

4 May 2011
  • Summary: I owned the Logitech pro 9000 before getting this cam which is a 2 year old product, I'm sorry to say that the logitech provides an overall better experience. the webcam does not perform well in low light situations (like most webcams) but the effect of having little light on most cams is that you...

For most users, better choices exist

David Arnstein, Amazon
2 November 2010
  • Summary: Length:: 3:15 Mins I have been using a Microsoft Lifecam Cinema for several months now, with good results. The "Cinema" is quite similar to this "Studio" webcam, except that its highest resolution is 720P rather than the 1080P offered by the "Studio" webcam.

Like other reviews have said, just fine until it breaks

David Matthew Gray, Amazon
24 May 2014
  • Summary: First of all, I'd like to say that this cam's really nice out of the box. The packaging is annoyingly complicated and it's probably going to be impossible to put it back together properly, but the cam itself was great.

The camera is not as good as I thought it would be

jimmy p olet, Amazon
11 May 2011
  • Summary: The camera is not as good as I thought it would be. It falsely advertises the ability to record in 1080p which was annoying. It also regularly freezes and often disconnects from the computer in a looping fashion.
