While it does have a brilliant 1080p image

Summary: After approximately 2 months, this camera started to freeze and turn itself off. I arranged for RMA with Microsoft and they replaced it, however the replacement began doing the same thing after a month's time. At this point I jusrt requested a refund from Microsoft which they honored without question. During my research, I discovered that this is a common issue with this model camera.
Summary: This camera, or rather the software associated with it, has never worked for us on a Toshiba laptop running Windows 8.1. The video variously hang, goes blank, or gets corrupted. We have uninstalled and re-installed, made sure all drivers (e.g. the video driver) are up to date to no avail. The "settings" button (the cog) has now vanished from the Camera app and we can't get it back. We will be replacing this with something else.
Excerpt: I'm living and studying overseas and Skype and Zoom are a good way to keep in touch with my family and friends back home. This is why I've bought 4 Microsoft LifeCam Studio cams to use them (bought 2 of them 2 yrs ago from B&H, then I bought 2 from a seller on @). They are/were excellent when they've worked.
Picture quality was not that good. That was $60 down the drain

Summary: Camera died after 32 days. Picture quality was not that good. That was $60 down the drain. Just ordered the C920, which I should have order the 1st time, but went with this one because it was cheaper. Device Manager shows it, but no other program will recognize it. The power light wont even come on now. Total waste of money. It has been flaky this whole time too. Took some tweaking just to get Microsoft programs to recognize a Microsoft piece of hardware.
Great at first, then makes me want to trash it after a month

Summary: Was by far the best webcam i have ever had....for about a month. It starts to act funny on Skype and show me as a tinted green monster or it doesn't turn on at all. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone if its usefulness turns horrible after a month.
Worked great until it broke. Replacement unit broke too.

Summary: I got the Microsoft LifeCam Studio from a local store and it worked great for about a week then completely stopped working. I took it back and order two from Amazon. Both ran very hot and you feel you could burn your fingers when you move it, it has a metal case. One unit broke after 2 weeks. The 2nd is still working but running hot, not as hot as the one the already broke but hot enough to think it will fail soon. To bad because when they work they are amazing.
Summary: I was disappointed with this purchase. I had a logitech camera but it was not compatible with my new windows 8 pc so I bought this. The price was the same as the Logitech but the quality and features did not come close. Going back to Logitech.
Excerpt: The fist product I´ve bought at b&h I´m not happy with. I have given away it, in case of to high freight charges to send back to US from EU. The missing information is, that the cam are not working with a Mac (I have really checked it in front of my order) as a plug and play. The standard view is overexposed and unusable. So you need an additional software, than you can get an usable picture. The resolution of HD is far away. I have done it with "webcam settings".
