Iffy call quality
13 August 2013
Summary: We use Skype extensively at work and since it's Skype certified, I really expected it to work much better than it does. The unit is very nice and compact. The clip works well with my laptop. The carrying bag is handy. But team members on the other end said the call quality was poor. Given that feedback, I would not recommend this product. Multiple reviews said the auto focus is a problem, I've seen evidence of it, but it has not really affected my meetings.
Summary: everything its good... once you dicover how to take out the auto focus. INSTRUCTIONS> -go to settings -unlock the "true color" box -go to advanced settings -go to camera -unlock "auto" focus Than you can focus manually by the cursor.
Summary: Shame on me for not researching this products quality. It's not clear to me how many customers have seen the issue of the autofocus, resetting and trying to refocus every 20 seconds. Microsoft has known about this issue since 2010, but their only solution is to turn autofocus "OFF". [...]. I have checked for updates, and the camera came with the latest firmware available.
Summary: worst thing about this web cam is its always trying to focus. i cant go more than 5 minutes with out it going blurry and trying to focus. most of the time any kind of movement will make it refocus and go blurry for about 5 seconds. i am currently trying to find out how to stop auto focus. that is my only complaint about this cam but it is a huge issue for me. keep in mind it may be a defective unit. make sure you consider other reviews before you buy it.
Summary: I bought this webcam in hopes of updating my 5 or so year old Microsoft webcam, looking for better quality and more ease of use. I did get ease of use, as the webcam can easily turn 180 degrees on both sides (it can't go all the way around, stopping at the mid back whether you turn it left or right) and it's very easy to tilt. It just barely fits on my desktop monitor, so it can be used outside of laptops if you have a small enough monitor.
Pros: out of box installation a snap - or so you would think.
Cons: autofocus cycling makes camera unusable until you turn off TruColor, manually disable autofocus and hard-wire setting. just a poor, poor implementation of the feature. size for clip only usable on laptop - not on monitor with thickness more than 3/4"
Summary: Overall Terrible Product. I bought one for my brother to keep in touch since he lives in a different state. Though the exterior is deceivingly nice and seems sturdy, the video quality severely lacking. High Definition? I think not! Quality is very pixelated and not any better than the stock camera that came with his computer. Also, the "auto-focus" feature is dreadful. Continually blurring the picture and zooming in and out briefly. I am sorry I bought this product.
Summary: This product (HD-6000) is great looking, but it has major limitations: - No TWAIN Driver for standard applications. - It doesnt capture really sharp images (Do not believe otherwise) - It gets a little a little too warm when used... YES... Hot compared to others. - Movies produced in high res where produced with low frames. In other words... Not worth all the hype.
