Summary: Won't go above 8-10 fps UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. And it operates basically like a badly locked windows phone apparently at the driver level because microsoft devices wants to force you to use mircosoft apps.
Summary: I would give 0 stars if I could. First of all, the lifecam software isn't even compatible with windows 8.1. Secondly, if you unplug the usb from the port to put it into a different port, you have to uninstall and reinstall EVERYTHING RELATED TO THE MICROSOFT LIFECAM.
Summary: I urge you to buy something else and burn down the factory creating these
Pros: - very mobile - LED lets you know when it's on
Cons: - Auto focus is DREADFUL. It readjusts itself all the time at complete random and cannot stay focused on one thing for more than 5 seconds. Horrible. It's so frustrating. You can sit absolutely still, and the camera will constantly go blurry and clear back and forth, driving you crazy. - Quality ...
Pros: Great quality video and high FPS..when it works.
Cons: Terrible compatibility with Win7. After a few weeks my computer stopped recognizing the camera despite up to date drivers. Reinstalling the driver seemed to fix it, but here I am a week later and it's doing the same thing. Had no issues whatsoever when reconnecting my old webcam.
Summary: DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!! I am very disappointed in Microsoft Lifecam HD-5000. I should have read everyone's review before buying this product...I'm not just talking about reviews here on Amazon but reviews on the web itself.
Summary: I followed instructions, downloaded and installed software, plugged in the webcam when indicated. The software crashed. I uninstalled, rebooted, reinstalled. Same thing. I requested a replacement. The same thing happened with the new webcam. Tried installing an older version of the software.
