Summary: I've been using this as my main webcam for a while now with my Windows 7 desktop and skype. So far I have had 0 problems. Super easy to use I didn't have to do any crazy installing or anything. Microsoft keeps it updated automatically. The way the base is designed is really nice. Still works perfectly after having it about a year and a half. The person I usually videochat with doesn't like the picture quality but he's a snob, I think it's more then fine.
Summary: This is a good little cam, pictures are HD and you get lots of adjustments. However, it says you can pan, but that function does not appear to work, only the zoom works. The software however, was a real pain in the arsky because Fast User Switching must be enabled in order to install the drivers in WinXP! And it must be an Admin account. Finally, there is a bug with the Skype software and I had to turn off automatic Skype updates to get this ti work.
Summary: I bought this after buying and returning a LogiTech webcam. The LogiTech gave me the blue screen of death. This one works fine. I use it with Skype. It's easy to install and use, thank goodness, because no useful instructions/documentation came with it. Also, when it arrived, it wasn't in a product box, which I thought was weird. This wasn't advertised as coming in "frustration free" packaging.
