Summary: Don't buy this unless you buy it from Amazon, where you can return it (like I had to). Even though auto-zoom is not checked in the properties/camera-control panel, the camera suddenly switches to maximum zoom erratically in the middle of Skype calls. The only remedy is to terminate the call and remake it, which works until the camera again switches to maximum zoom. I have a plain-Jane Acer laptop with System 7. This camera behavior is unacceptable. I'm sending it back.
Summary: Bought this product a week ago and followed the instructions perfectly (numerous times). The Lifecam software would always say something like "no camera found." Obviously there's a problem with the driver. I uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled them using the CD, the website, and windows update. NOTHING, on all 3 attempts. Went into the control panel to make sure the cam and mic were enabled and set as the current device, and still nothing.
Summary: I tried every driver i could find and none of them would work with my Win7 pro 64 bit system-----plugged the camera into my XP machine and worked like a charm--from Google search this seems to be a common problem with some Win7/specific mother board setups----tried Microsoft support and getting through to a person either from e-mail or phone is next to impossible--sent the camera back, and as usual, Amazon is the best when it comes to returns.
