Summary: Overall this web cam is decent, but compare it to the build-in cam on my 2013 Macbook Air, it is still not as good. Nonetheless, it is acceptable. I use it on an external monitor for the Mac Mini. My biggest issue with the Macally is the clip. The clip simply does sit well on top of the monitor, I had to use a piece of 3M double sided tape to tape it to the top of the monitor. Other then that it is still a decent product.
Mic works great, picture quality good, framerate very low.

Summary: I purchased a Mac Mini near the end of 2012 to replace a mid-2007 iMac. The iMac has a built-in monitor and a built-in camera and mic; for the Mini I purchased a large, high-quality monitor from Samsung but wanted convenient audio and video input which is why I purchased the Macally MegaCam.
Summary: I got this webcam to replace a Logitech camera I have. The Logitech camera was old & has a hazy, white washed out color to it. This camera has a much better picture but it's frame rate is very low. Using something like FaceTime or Skype that requires video is very choppy, while anything that requires just a picture is much smoother but still less than desirable.
Summary: I just bought this at a store. I usually use a logitech C910 with my mac because the angle of the built in laptop Macbook Pro is not good. The built-in camera looks up my face instead of at it. I mount the webcam higher so it looks at me. This Macally Megacam has, on my mac, these features that are worse than the logitech C910. 1) No focus. Seems to be fixed focus at infinity.
Summary: This unit although claims were made, does not work with Mac 10.8 and Mini (2012). Must be directly in USB port for video, and there is no audio - -which of course for any Skype use is a necessity.
