Summary: it doesnt work... need i say more? I bought it because someone suggested it but after installation it will work for 3 minutes then goes black. asked my friend from itt tech and he said it was luckily just the camera and not my computer.
Summary: Poor video quality. That's the most important thing in a webcam (in my opinion) and since this sucks at that, I'm giving it only 1 star. Plus, it doesn't attach very securly to the top of my flat screen monitor. It just kinda sits there. Hate this webcam!!
Summary: The software was very quick and easy to install, it probably took no longer than 5 minutes. I was very disappointed in the quality of the video, however. It was so grainy and at first I thought that maybe my settings were off but everything was set at the highest resolution. I tried playing with every different setting because I thought that maybe the resolution was too high and my PC couldn't handle it?
Summary: I'd do a video review if I could get it to work properly. This thing is run by software that hasn't been updated since 1998! How do these people expect a G4 Mac using OS X Tiger to run something that was designed for System 8? Logitech ought to be embarrassed to be selling junk like this. I don't think it's asking too much to have reasonably updated software for a webcam. I'll think twice before ordering another product form Logitech.
Summary: I bought this camera because it was advertised to be Mac compatible. Unfortunately, it only works with Mac OS 9 and below, which haven't been produced since 2002 or so. Also, the design of the camera is such that you have to place it at eye level (it doesn't pivot up enough) and yet there's no way to attach it to a laptop. So you have to place it on top of a pile of books or something to have it angle correctly. Too bad.
Pros: Lots of great features and they have obviously fixed the install issue as I was able to get it working in 5 minutes. Face tracking works if you're close. Has a hard time if you're across the room.
Cons: It is currently pointing at the floor as the motor is stuck in the down position. I seriously used it for 5 minutes. It also seems to have worse quality for IM than my $35 Creative NX. Great idea but poor implementation. See my review of the QuickCam Zoo
