Summary: I advise you to do as I did after receiving this item: Spend a little bit more and get the Logitech HD Pro Webcam C920, 1080p Widescreen Video Calling and Recording instead. It is far superior for a minimal cost upgrade.
Summary: I did not like the way it sits on the notebook it is not really secure it hangs there not really stable. The Video quality is okay. Great if the room is well lighted. the Audio mic is very good probably the best i seen so far.
A camera that works for Mac users who do not have iSight built-in
David Stewart "dsjl", Amazon
11 December 2007
Summary: This review is for the benefit of Mac users, not Windows. I bought the Logitech QuickCam Pro 9000 and the Logitech QuickCam Ultra Vision to choose a web camera for an iMac G5 2.0GHz, the generation immediately before the G5 iMac with the built-in iSight camera. And I'm running Mac OS X 10.5.1, the most updated (to date) Leopard. There is currently a camera for sale at Apple retail stores that is labeled the Logitech QuickCam Ultra Vision MP, for Macs.
Summary: overral this cam is great but only if you find a great deal buy.com 60 dlls rebate the cost = 35.00 dlls great deal great picture from this price but if you pay like real cost 95.dlls better try to find a another better camera around this price
Summary: I must admit that I almost returned the product after unpacking it. The product information stated that this is webcam is for both desktop and laptops. At first I couldn't figure out how to clamp it to my laptop, and instead just balanced it on top, which was frustrating. After tinkering with it for a few days, I've managed to bend the clip in the right shape and angle it so that it's steady, but it's not a tight fit where you can swing your laptop around and it won't...
Pros: Very sensitive and echo-free mic. White balance a-ok. RightLight and RightSound works.
Cons: It's big, it's expensive, it takes some practice to balance on your laptop screen.
Summary: I am disappointed in the fact that background light, facing this webcam, will make it inoperable, resulting in either no picture or an extremely dark picture. It's ability to do extremely detail oriented zoom is very poor in comparison to the Microsoft VX 6000 lifecam. Would I recommend this webcam to others? No. For what I paid brand new, I should have gone with the VX 6000.
Summary: This is a good-looking unit and with its glass lens, it is able to produce sharper images than other webcams I've used. OK, so why just a 3-star rating? The "RightLight Technology" is way overrated. During the day, when the subject (me) is backlighted by a large window, my image is a silhouette. This is no better than what can be expected from a $25 webcam. The "RightSound" is much better.
Major Driver Upgrade Corrects Earlier Fatal Flaws - The QuickCam Ultra Can Now Be Recommended!
Phillip M. Dampier, Amazon
17 May 2007
Summary: (Major update 4/24/07 has been added to the review at the conclusion. This is the original review. Certain flaws have now been corrected, so please see the update at the bottom!) The Logitech QuickCam Ultra Vision is a product that should be an instant success. The hardware engineers who designed the camera created a winner - a glass precision lens capable of delivering far sharper images than the majority of webcams on the market, a noise-cancelling microphone that...
Summary: Like many folks out there, I just don't understand in this day and age, why can't multi-million dollar companies come out with a decent peoduct that actually works? I've used several other webcams, mostly all with the same results. Grainy picture, lousy lighting, slow response - the list goes on. Logitech started advertising this thing several months ago, and pushed back the release date for whatever reason. I really wanted to believe the hype and get a decent webcam.
