Summary: This has worked well. It has excellent resolution, the software was easy to install and adjust. It came up immediately in skype. The microphone is OK. The webcam attaches easily to both of our two laptops.
The problem is the stand needed for a workstation monitor. The base is small and not sufficiently heavy, the pole is long and, amazingly, doesn't lock into the stand. It tips over at the slightest provocation, the rod detaching from the base in a clatter.
Summary: This newer notebook quickcam has features not found in the older cams.
I like the automatic light sensing adjustment, and easy focus.
If desired, the contrast and other light features can be adjusted manually. This is a great item for the price.
Summary: I moved from England to America and wanted to keep in contact with my family. The Logitech QuickCam has been great. It is really easy to set up, and the quality is not bad. I love the carry case, and the whole thing is small enough to travel around with me. Definitely a good purchase and at a competative price.
Summary: Nice design, easy to 'fold' and travel with in supplied hard case. Easy installation, functions well, good picture quality however online still gives frame by frame. Overall, great purchase for price payed.
Summary: This a good webcam for someone who's always on the go - it's very compact. It attaches well to my laptop - some people complain about its stand - you just have to understand how it works. The microphone could be improved, but it's usable.
Summary: I ordered the QuickCam for Notebooks in late May 2004, and I've used my camera extensively in the last 14 months. If I get a request for a videoconference it takes less than 3 minutes to get ready. It actually takes more time to hook up my microphone and earphones for audio than it does to unpack and hook up the camera for the video. The mounting works fine for both of my laptop computers. I chose to not use the Quickcam Orbit I ordered the same day.
Summary: This thing is very easy to install. I could get it to work with Yahoo IM within 10 minutes of opening the package without needing any instructions. I did'nt use the included software except for drivers since all I want to do with it is IM. The video quality is excellent even in low light conditions and the resolution is adequate. Colors are sharp without distortion. I miss wide angle though. I think wide angle webcams are more suited for IM applications.
Summary: Really like this lil' gem. It's easy to tote it in my backpack along w/all of other mobile video-conferencing gear. The image quality of the video is pretty sweet and has lived up to its billing. As well, it hangs on my laptop perfectly and is quickly and easily adjustable. I'm really happy w/this purchase and the price on Amazon was the best I found.
Summary: I've had this webcam for about a year now and I haven't had many problems with it. Actually, I can't think of any problems I've had with it. The little arms allow me to easily manipulate the way it attaches to my laptop and the angle that it uses. You also have a limited ability to pan and tilt the camera through the software and have it automatically track your face. The image quality is pretty good and it functions surprisingly well in lower light conditions.
Summary: Worked right out of the box. Nice picture and easy to setup and use. I use it on AOL video messenger and it works well. One thing to think about because I use it on my main computer not a laptop (I like the way it fits on my flat panel monitor) the USB cable was not long enough. I bought an extension for it and it worked out OK.
