Buyer Beware

D. Hansel, Amazon
14 May 2008
  • Summary: This is my 2nd one. After buying it I found out it would not work with Windows 7 64bit Operating system. When you put in the CD the first thing that comes up is a sign "Invalid Operating System" or something like that. It will work on Windows XP and Vista, but not on Windows 7 64bit.

Great Camera, Horrible Software

tagger9, Amazon
7 July 2006
  • Summary: I've tried several different webcams, and the Logitech 5000 by far has the best image. Its especially good under low light conditions, where the other cameras I tried didn't work very well. I use the 5000 regularly for videoconferencing via Skype, and it works very well with this service.

Beware of incompatibility issues

Miguel Cunillera, Amazon
18 June 2006
  • Summary: Image wise, this cam is probably the best in the market, period . However, Logitech needs to solve some incompatibility issues with windows xp. After installing the Quickcam 5000 my computer would only boot up to a black screen.

great picture...not so great sound

R. Calvan, Amazon
10 January 2006
  • Summary: I bought this camera for my husband who is stationed in Afganistan. The picture is very clear and we enjoy being able to see eachother. However, the sound is very unclear...difficult to understand. Most of the time we leave the sound off.

Good Hardware, Bad software, Awful support

Nanako Cook, Amazon
14 May 2008
  • Summary: The camera arrived within a reasonable time. Installation was quick and easy, but it messed up the sound on my PC, so that all sound came through the headphones instead of the speakers. I did nto explicitly select an option to do this, nor could I find one to undo it.

Nice camera, rubbish drivers

Jimlittle, Amazon
14 May 2008
  • Summary: I've intalled this on a couple of machines - and have had a good number of "Blue Screen of Death" errors, even on machines where it installed and worked well at first. The drivers are extremely large, and install too many applications (MSN, Yahoo etc) which I don't want - the cut down version...

  • Summary: Bought this camera based on the other excellent Logitech products. I believe that this camera is excellent in it's performance and features....however you must check the compatability of your USB interface on your mother board!
