Summary: I agree with an earlier review about "good hardware, bad software." Never got this to work reliably on my XP system and ended up returning it. It would forget it had a camera installed after reboots or come up in applications as "In Use" when nothing else was using it.
Summary: Unfortunately, the driver is not compatible with my sound card (Realtek HD audio card) in my Sony Vaio RA820G. I can install the webcam and its works but I have horrible interferences on the sound. There is a compatibility problem between the driver and the sound card.
Summary: Purchased this web cam as an update. Have had and used many web cams. It works well on the Mac but on the PC I can not get the INF file to initialize. Worst part is the very cryptic support web site (after spending 30 minutes carefully providing the problem along with screen shots, the Web site...
Summary: I bought the camera less than 2 years ago and could not get it to work when I switched to Win7, even though there was a driver upgrade. Contacted Logitech and they gave me the run around of try this and this and this for almost a month.

Summary: This product seems to have no advantage over the product which bears the same name, without the words "for Skype". Why would you buy this when the Quickcam 5000 (without the words "for Skype" attached to it) for $12 cheaper? From AMAZON! Check it out: Logitech QuickCam Pro 5000 WebCam
Summary: DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT DUE TO ITS SOFTWARE! I installed the software for the QuickCam Pro 5000 on my desktop and my computer repeated crashed and elicited running error messages. I immediately removed the Logitech software from my desktop. The desktop now runs normally.
Summary: Be warned - if you use any of the new v7.0 Security Suites from ZoneAlarm (that include the new Kapersky Antivirus engine), LOGITECH WEBCAMS WILL NOT INSTALL FULLY - you will have only limited functionality AT BEST.
Summary: Go check out Logitech's own forums. The software for this camera crashes Windows if you have a new AMD dualcore CPU. I have contacted Logitech about this and they offer no fix nor pretend to have one in the works. Don't get this camera if you have a CPU like mine.
Summary: Camera looks great, but crashes system every time I plug in to USB port. I am running Windows XP SP 2 on a 2.4 GHz P4 with 1 GB memory so there should be no system issues. I downloaded the updated software from Logitech and this didn't fix the problem. I plan on returning the camera.
