Summary: This product was listed as new--yet the audio cuts in and out and I have to restart my skype so that the other person can even HEAR me. Not sure if this product is defective--or if it's the brand itself. Would not recommend it though
Summary: I got it to work on XP, but never in VISTA. It always tells me that I need a new driver despite just loading it. It seems like it doesn't see it. So, the bottom line is drivers can not be loaded.
Summary: I ordered this camera for my girlfriend. It installed easy enough but we could never get it to work with iChat, which was the messenger that I was using. It was not as simple as install and use.
Summary: I'd have probably given this camera 4 or 5 stars if not for the microphone problem. Search Logitech's support forums for "LVCKAP.SYS" for more information on the problem described above.
Pros: Pretty good video for a cheap webcam. Microphone is OK.
Cons: The microphone driver is imcompatible with the Sigmatel Audio drivers used in some Dell laptops with Win XP. The incompatibility causes Windows to crash (Blue Screen of Death) when the camera is plugged in. In their support forum, Logitech says the problem can be worked around by turning echo can...
Pros: Works with linux but with a very blue tint. Color is fine in windows atleast in QVGA mode.
Cons: The windows software crashes if you try full VGA mode. If you try full VGA mode under linux (in camorama), it crashes the entire USB subsystem! Given that it is advertised as a full VGA webcam it is unacceptable.
Summary: I agree with whoever said too much software installed. I prefer plug and play, no hassle. I also think the image is awful and I have a pretty good computer system. It had static on image and just did not look clear at all.
