Poor driver performance in Windows XP
Tech Savvy Reviewer, Amazon
20 April 2011
Summary: I've tried using this product again and again, every time there is a driver update from Logitech. I continually have issues with the driver either not working, locking up, or slowing down my system. I would not recommend you purchase this product.
Summary: I have two laptops. It works with one of them (newer one), but not with another one (older one). I'm trying to find out the reason why, but I'm not a computer expert so..I don't know what is wrong with it. I guess that's because it is usb1.1.
Summary: for the same price you can buy a newer one shame on logitech for making so much of a bad product. havent tried it with vista maybe they made the drivers exclusively for vista who knows works with my linux machine as far as linux goes the xp drivers are for the mic only.
Pros: i have xp when i try to use it, it turns on. i got it working with quick cam connect driver CD from a friend till it went to update... see continued below about writing to the registry.. works with linux and linux based drivers the audio works.
Cons: well for those of you who want something that works out of the box dont buy this.the drivers dont work. their tech support has new drivers but, if you try and use those it writes a value to your registry to disable the video from the camera . the updates pop up every time you turn on the computer...
Summary: Ditto on the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) reviews that I've seen for this product. I had read the warnings before buying, but I have a relatively new, mainstream PC that I have never had a single problem with, and figured I would be ok. The price was right.
Summary: There is something nasty about the driver for this camera. On 2 different machines, the driver for this camera creates faults at shutdown--something about not releasing control and being forced to quit by Windows XP. Install at your own peril. NOT recommended.
Summary: I bought this camera today and by looking at the box, it looked like the picture quality was excellent, but when I got it home and then started to use it, well that's a whole different story. The picture is really bad, and my old cam's picture is 1000 times better then this one (Ezonics EZ Cam III).
Summary: grainy photos, slow jerky movement. But worse than that is the program NEVER completely uninstalled. Support has head up rectum - after informing them I uninstalled the program but the program never fully uninstalled, I was informed that I must have done something wrong.
